Still doing my weekly routine. Consistency is boring, but it works for me.
I’m 99% sure I’m going to let my stylist blow out my hair and give me trim at my next appointment. It will have been 18 weeks at that point. I’m still a little nervous, but she is good about only trimming as much as I request and I think my curls can handle a blowout.

TAKE PHOTOS of that blow out for us because I know it is going to be sooooo pretty!

Self Trimming Hair - Possible Method

Some Caveats:

  1. Hair is parted in the middle, then placed in a ponytail. (Hair is not pulled back without a part!)
  2. Hair is pulled loosely into a LOW ponytail.
  3. Hair must be centered at the nape.
  4. Hair must have at least two (2) elastics on it.
  5. Hair is trimmed/cut between the two elastics.

I butchered my own hair trying to maintain and trim my own ends. That was at least an eight (8) year set back for me. That is not an exaggeration .
The Feye Method left the middle of my hair shorter than the sides- NOPE!!!!!!!

I found this video link on LHCF. She was a member here. Here hair came out gorgeous after her trim. It was even and full. It looks like she cut six inches. You can decide how much you want to trim off your luscious healthy ends. It's the METHOD that I like. I will be using this method when I blow out and press my hair, whenever cough *bun drop* cough that may be.

I like cutting my ends with a Crea clip. I bought a knockoff from aliexpress years ago and it still works great!

I'm scared to use this one. I don't like the curve on the ends. I just looked on YouTube and saw how people use it to cut nice, blunt ends. Your ends are nice and blunt in the back and very even and pretty. Now, I know your secret.

What are you guys using to cover your grays, if you have any?
I’m contemplating dying my hair, but I don’t want my curls to be loosened. Also, I don’t want the maintenance to be burdening.
I purchased a reddish brown dye from Sally’s with a bottle of 30 developer for some lift. It’s been months and I still haven’t used it.
I could order henna or indigo, but the mess is annoying. Le sigh. I need help.

I am allowing salt and pepper to be what it is. The pictures don't really show it as well as I see it in person because my reddish brown hair still outshines the greys popping up(and my hair has a natural shine that makes my greys look more shiny than grey...but they are, indeed grey lol. Ultimately I think grey hair is pretty so I am not doing to fight it. I also use alma oil and black seed oil which I heard that naturally makes it take longer to grey. I plan to grey gracefully. If the natural stuff makes it take a little longer to fill in, I am cool with that, but I am not going to dye it. Heat is my risk of choice. I hope to have a head full of thick silver strands with flawless skin once I reach elderly age.

That said my baby sis is two years younger than me with the same grey I have. She wants to dye her and "Deeper than Hair" has some good videos on Clariol and home dyes that work well. I was just talking to her last week about this video when she said "You gone head and grey gracefully, I'm dying mine." :giggle:

I thought I wanted to gray naturally, but it’s not coming in pretty. The gray is sporadic. If I could get a streak of gray or white, I would let it rock. The salt and pepper look doesn’t look right with my mousey brown hair.
Currently, the sporadic gray is starting around my forehead.

I totally understand. I posted the link to the deeper than hair video using the grey solutions's Clarol line. I recommending this to my sister last week. Even though I don't dye my hair, my hair dye practice was always on her with streaks and other stuff before we reached the age bracket of discussing grey hair lol.

I go to my stylist every 8 weeks to get my gray covered. She uses a demi-permanent dye with a very low volume developer. I haven’t noticed any affect on my curls.

I’m so frustrated with my hair. I need to get back in my bun groove. My hair has gotten so long with my bun/pony method I just need to stick with one style. I keep experimenting and it’s annoying the heck out of me. I need predictable hair.

i am going to try and switch back to regular bun holders vs the satin ones because o think the satin ones stay damp and create odor. I didn’t really know why I switched because I did it have breakage with regular bun holders.

Now that the weather is getting warmer my hair just poofs up :nono: I need a stronger holding gel. I may have to pull out the Doux Bee Girl custard for a final layer so my hair can stay neat all day. I forgot what i used to do in the summer to make my hair be sleek all day

When you figure it, you may want to write the process down so you will have a record forever.
