LOTS of PICS! Perfected my transition twist-out and more!

I haven't started a pic thread in years, but I had to share!

I will be 9 months post-relaxer next weekend. I have perfected my twist-out technique and I'm geeked. :yep: It's protective because with shrinkage and curling, my BSL hair is above my shoulders. And it's super fast/easy to do! Here are the pics from today! FYI, I make a side-part and flat twist the front. The twists may look tight in the photo, but believe me, they're loose.

And I also threw in one or two pics from January.

PERFECT twistout. Please, tell us more about how you did it. Just flat twists instead of individuals?

Thank you ladies.

The twist out was done on previously washed/dried hair (I airdry).

I misted my hair with a little bit of water to make it slightly damp. I took a little Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-in and lightly applied it throughout my hair. Then I took a little Profectiv Mega Growth (I cant remember if it was the jar or the bottle, because I use whichever I grab first) and lightly applied it over the fructis.

At this point, my hair wasn't soaking wet, but it was pretty damp. I made 6 flat-twist going all the way back. I didn't make any parts, I just grabbed. I twisted to my ends. Then I took an old hair chop-stick (length and width of a #2 pencil ) and rolled the length of all six braids in the single pencil. I secured it at the base of my neck with a hair pin on each side.

By morning my hair was fully dry. I untwisted, applied a little Profectiv mega growth oil on the ends, and I was good to go.

:scratchch Hmm... I bet I could use a flexirod instead of a chopstick and get similar results. I dont' really know how to flat twist though... I better check you.tube for a tutorial.

ETA: lol, I'm so busy trying to figure out how to copy your results, I forgot to say it looks FAB!!!

Beautiful twistout! You have definitely perfected it. How long does it last for you and do you have to retwist every night?

Thank you, ladies. :Blush2:

I dont have to re-twist every night. It will look fresh for 3-4 days. I sleep in one of those little bonnets. When I wake up in the morning, I apply a few drops of oil all over, shake and sorta tug it one good time and I'm good to go.

Cinna, your hair is beautiful. I love the twist out. Is a "flat twist" like a cornrow but using two sections of hair instead of three? And, do you think that your braidouts/twistouts turn out better when you do them on airdried hair or soaking wet?

Also, do you airdry your hair in ponytails so that your newgrowth is flattened a bit? I'm trying to figure out what state your ng is in when you do your flat twisting.

AND...I love that updo thing...what is it? Two buns? How did you do that? It looks like a figure eight.

Looks awesome!!!! I can't get my braidouts and twistout to look anything that. I finally gave up and I am just gonna put my hair in a bun for the next 4 months till I get back to the states.
