I'm sorry seriously!!

We had a long day today. He didnt get here until about 1 or 2 since his cousin is in the hosiptal and he basically spends his free time there.

Then, I went on a mass shopping grocery spree and got to the line and the debit thingy was broke. So we was in Krogers for a few hours sitting there looking stupid.

Then I started cooking and remember I forgot an essential ingredient to the meal. So he had to go back to the store. He is now eating and I don't like to interrupt the hungry animals while eating! I promise I got yall. He is on his seconds now so he should be good and full and ready to put up with my pickiness in a minute.:lachen:

Okay, Okay. I've waited this long, so I'm sure I can wait a lil longer ;)

Hey they are up. After seeing them I sure was dissapointed. But that's okay. I take everything as a learning experience. I didn't know I experienced some breakage so after this week there will be a cut.:ohwell:

ON MY WAY...I am such a fotki whore..:lachen:

Your hair looks really nice Locks. :)

Do you think the breakage spot is caused by your scarf maybe?

Don't be upset! Your hair looks good! :yep:

and please dont cut it :nono:

I know it doesnt look like much progress to you since your last update, but I am all about comparing apples to apples. How does your hair look when wet (the way it was in your last update pic)? Maybe that's what you need to see.

one more 'gain, don't cut it! my hair lives vicariously(sp) through yours...:look:

see 2 for no cutting can we get 3?

 Your hair looks beautiful!!! I love the length! Why you cutting so much though (to APL)? Your breakage seems very, very minor imo.

:angeldevi *Princess R.B.*-

You have such pretty hair! I agree w/other ladies... dont cut it. Is it really damaged or do you really want a blunt cut? Maybe your hair grows in a tail?

Girl your hair is amazing. Agree w/ all the ladies DONT CUT YOUR HAIR!
We all have setbacks (having mine now). But thats way to much to cut off IMO :)

Sorry ladies I gotta do it. It will be best. My feelings are VERY hurt because 1. I so didn't see it coming and 2. I don't know what the cause is.

So instead of shedding tears over it (yes I have been crying:lol: , this hair stuff is serious game to me- I spent a whole year of my life feeling unpretty and avoiding social parties because I couldn't wear my hair down, it was a BIG deal) I came up with a game plan. I am doing Aphogee the big protein and from there I will be:

1. Going back to regular protein treats. I was using Aphogee keratin spray once a week, and I am assuming that might not cut it anymore. I will go back to monthly protein treats (when I get the funds I will buy Nexxus Emergencee, but for now Duo Tex or Essations Hair Mender will have to do).

2. Very safe detanging. I will stop going crazy on my hair on wash day and take my time. Instead of airdrying in a ponytail, I will just twist it up,in one big twist.

3. Still protective styling-sans bun and baggie. The breakage (pic below) is caused from my nape and I don't know what exactly is causing it so I will eliminate those two things just to be safe. I will wear it in my old lady twist up style like I used to do. I think the extra moisture from bagying has made my nape extra weak. Still not sure.

I know it sounds drastic cutting all the way above APL. But hear me out ladies:
Breakage.jpg

I have circled in red the breakage. Since the breakage is in such an odd spot, I can't cut around it without still having that void. So I have to get it now.:ohwell: So I will cut where the blue line is. It's not THAT bad girls (yall are so sweet  ) and I am actually looking forward to the new start. My SO is making it such a big deal. But of course his ghetto butt don't see anything wrong with it. Bless him's heart.

If I play my cards right, I will hopefully make WSL in 2009, damn that sounds so far away. And 6 inches from that ( a year from now) I may actually be at MBL when I thought I would be at WSL. Which ain't tooo bad. It's only about 6 mos down the drain.:ohwell:

Well with that being said. I am gonna wear it down this week and enjoy it and show these people at my school that I actually have hair. Thank yall so much for the support. I needed it! Here Here to nice full WSL!

Awww Locks, I feel your pain. :rosebud:
You are like the textbook example of how to properly care for hair :yep: I hate to see your length go, like someone else said, I live vicariously through you hair ;)
But, I do understand. You want all or nothing, length and fullness. That's what I want as well!:)

Man, I thought I was doing everything so right. But thank you hun for the support!:)

hey locks i still think your hair looks great. maybe u should trim off a little gradually instead of doing one big chop?

LocksofLuv,

Loving your progress girl! But, I TOTALLY understand what you're saying and what you're trying to do. I have cut all of of progress and started all over again for the sake of having perfect hair (not once, but twice!)

I will honestly tell you though, that it does NOT look bad to me at all. Seriously. However, I totally understand where you are coming from as your goals are VERY similar to mine!

HHG!

You know, I thought about you, MissKibi, and Sistaslick and that's why I am not scared to just let it go.

I don't want to be one of those people who hang on to length just to have it. I'll just rather let it go now and have a healthy start. I am actually looking forward to it in a weird way. I always wanted to get rid of those bone straight ends anyways so this is one step closer to being 100% texlaxed anyways. Thank you yall for the support again. Yall are so great.

hahaha..lol..I would soo do that too! Enjoy the length before you let it go!

Anyhow, I now understand why you're cutting to APL. Your game plan sounds good. Your hair still looks great no matter the length so good luck and HHG :)!

wow, locks, you are not only an inspiration showing that hair can go from "rags" (and i use this term loosely) to riches, but you are also an inspiration demonstrating that healthy hair is most important, not just the length. thank you so much for letting us in on the most intimate details of your hair care practices. just know that you have the ultimate support of your SO (even though i don't know him, from what you have shared he has been very suportive of all of your hair decisions) and you have all of your sisters here!

ETA: you have gorgeous hair regardless!!!

here, here:cheers: to full, healthy, breakage-free wsl! :)
