Protective styling is a must
not "No Manipulation" more like Low Manipulation
Only brushing edges and combing sparingly
Co-washing a must
Pre-Poo mos def
I used to wash daily but no need to anymore, but every 3 days or so

protective styling
airdrying (just moved to a new country and too lazy to buy a blow dryer)
pre-shampoo conditioning

Oh man, I don't do any of these! :spinning: Well the one technique I do use is no direct heat such as flat irons or blow dryers. Just by doing that alone helped my hair tremendously.

I do:

Protective styling
Low manipulation
Combing on wash/co-wash days; other times, very sparingly
Air drying
Co-washing

Low manipulation
Cowashing
Prepoos

Tryig to get more into protective styling but I love my hair out and wild.

My hair is too fine. I've tried not combing for about 4 days and I ended up losing much more hair because it would wrap around itself and dread at the roots. Very, very hard for me not to comb. However, I do:

1. Air dry
2. Use no direct heat
3. Deep condition
4. Protein once a week (light)
5. Drink lots of water
6. Eat well, plenty of veggies and fish
7. Exercise
8. Protective styles at least 4 days a week

I do these things:

Protective Styling
No manipulation (low)
No combing (1X per week)
Airdrying
No shampooing
Co-washing
Baggy-ing

I also deep condition, and use very little direct heat.

I'm still doing the same things with a minor revision; I only baggy in winter.

co-washing
finger detangling
low manipulation (no manipulation would be "I don't touch my hair, ever")
protective styles (night)
air drying whenever possible
baggying mostly in the winter, or oil rinsing

protective styling- yes
low mani-yes (no mani-no)
airdrying-yes
no shampooing-only when not applying things to my scalp (mtg)
co-washing- yes
baggying-yes but not very frequently as it leads to mushy hair

i cowash maybe twice a week
low manipulation
I really dont do pre poo but i lean towards slufate free shampoos 9 times outta 10.. that 1 left is reserved for when i need to clarify
protective styling: half wigs, and banana clips are my staples
i am air drying, However, im finding my hair to be "crunchy" afterwards so i sit under my hood dryer on low heat, maybe ten minutes.. maybe.. and airdry the rest

i would love to not comb... i... just...cant.. do.. it.. ughh...:wallbash: it would seem though that some of the longer heads dont comb often.. and some of the "almost there and longer than mine heads" too :drunk:

Yes-Co-wash,DC & Protectiv Style & Air Drying...

No-Cold Water Rinse & Bagging....

Happy Hair Growing!

Detangling is ALWAYS a nightmare for me whether its in the shower with head full of conditioner and running water or with leave-ins. :perplexed

Most of these techniques would have me bald. If they work for others, great, but most of them are far too extreme for my head.
