I'll start first.

Heeeeey! :wave: I'm LadyEsquire. I lurked for almost a year, when I was natural and had a twa. I'm relaxed and heading towards MBL now. :woot:

My regimen is in my fotki in the "My Journal" section.

Originally from NY, raised in Miami, live in Atlanta now.
Married with 3 kids. Just had a newborn last month.
Attorney currently staying home.

Any MBL or WL ladies care to mentor me?

I read in several threads that ladies are intimidated to post sometimes. Maybe this will help bring some folks out. Share something about yourself, ask a question, introduce yourself, whatever's clever.

I am currently a SAHM of one almost 2 year old knucklehead. :spinning: I hope to go back to work soon as an NICU nurse.

I have been lurking since maybe November or December. I BC'd in april and am still learning a lot about my hair. I don't really have a set regimen yet, but I think I'm getting close. Oh yes, I'm a PJ, when money allows :)

I'm originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Born and raised :yep: Now I'm in a boring town in Oklahoma, been here about 5 years. I miss my family :sad:

I'm married to the best man ever (black love is beautiful, people! :grin: ) and we have 3 kiddos. A 4 year old girl, a 1 year old girl and a 5 month old boy

Wassup I am known as the infamous KrazynKute :grin: I'm 20 years old livin in the Jacktown aka Jackson, MS. I'm a student in college who is majorin in Biology/Pre-Dentistry. Tough stuff tough stuff! I'm in love with music, and most recently hair. When I came here, I was barely shoulder length. I am slowly creeping to APL!! :spinning::spinning: I stay in the fashion forum cuz I am a slave to clothes!!
 
Hi my name is cheekyfa. I've been lurking since 2005 when I was relaxed. I did the BC in June and now I'm fully naturally. I have no regime set in stone yet. I basically co-wash every day or every other day. I'm in NC for the time being until school starts again then I go back to Ohio.
 
First off, I'm glad that I found LHCF, even though I keep trying to "fight the power" rather than accept that there is a lot about hair care that I need to learn.

I'm 22, one son, unmarried, starting law school next month
Trying to figure out a low-maintenance healthy hair regimen
I've gone back and forth with layered SL and bobs for years and I'm looking for something new/ hoping to stretch my relaxer to Dec and if that works, I may go natural....
I'm also tired of chemicals because my hair has been chronically breaking in the middle & about 2 1/2 years ago I got a mysterious quarter-sized bald patch that has since grown out completely. (I actually believe it was from the Depo shot). That's about it! & thankz for starting this thread.

I wish I would've found LHCF when I was 17. Wait, it wasn't around back then. But dang, I wish I would've found Cathy Howse at least. You are sooo ahead of the game.

Hey my name is Cocoa and here is my info:

  • I'm 24 born in NYC but live/raised in NJ
  • I am very VERY interested in hair care and lately makeup application ( still have a lot to learn with that though lol)
  • I love shopping and talking on the phone
  • I work full time but only so I can have money for tuition to go back to school for nursing....looking forward to the day I can finally leave my current job :yep:
  • I love Home Makeovers and HGTV and am working up the nerve to try out a few things in my bedroom.
  • I love the hair section of the board the best!!!
  • I'm addicted to MT and think anyone that is looking for a great growth aid should try it out
  • I hate straight hair...I think I will be getting weaves soon to switch it up a bit.

With the exception of gardening, we have the same interests. My green thumb has fungus. :lol:

I'd been lurking off and on since the summer of 06...long time I know.
I'm transitioning. I'm currently relaxed and a littl longer than SL

Little bout me:
--I'm from san Antonio texas and I just moved back from Florida.
--I have no husband, no chi'lren.
--Been in the military for 8 yrs. Was in the Air Force for 6 years.
--Just hopped back in to the Army National Guard last year.
--I just quit my job to go back to school. MINI RANT: :grin: Everyone thought I was crazy as hell because I gave up $28/hr job. (i was an xray tech/ct tech).
A sista can't get NO support.
Ugh...they should try administering barium enemas! Or performing VCUG's and watching someone pee all over the table...or trying to put a catheter or scope up someone's 'hoo-hoo'...:perplexed It's just too much.
I'm entirely too squeamish to work in a hospital. I'm too through with ppl 'coding' on me. Can't go to work without someone trying to die on me! Plus I'm tired of sticking hoses up ppl's orifices. I mean, what is that?
They can put a man on the moon but they can't find a better way to diagnose bowel issues.
--I'm in a 5 yr accounting program working towards my Masters. Actually I'd be fine with a BA but they reward you with a Masters for taking 150 hrs...because you have to take 150 hrs anyway to sit for the CPA.
So, might as well...
--I'm in ROTC.
I hope to get picked up by 'Big Four' (Ernst and Young or Deloitte and Touche). I want to become an officer.

These days I'm in braid-outs.

I don't know enough to be a mentor but I like to help ppl. Since I spend so much time immersed in 'hair research' if there's a question I can usually find a link or 2 about it.
 
Hi everyone! i'm Ivy Butters after my dog (Ivy) and my mom's dog (Butters). I am currently interning in Houston. Been here since May and hope to relocate permanently. (If you now someone who's hiring in their marketing department let me know). I graduate in two weeks 08/08/08 with an MBA-marketing emphasis from FAMU. I found LHCF in January and joined immediately. I wish I would have found in years ago when I found Cathy Howse. Her book had a lot of good info but no support and encouragement. I have no children except Ivy and I am unmarried. I think that's about it.

Cocoa, I have been interested in makeup too latley. There is a huge demand for nurses all over right now. I have a lot of friends and family who have done the accelerated programs and were pursued with sign-on bonuses. I love the hair board too. :yep:


PhoEnixX, what up girl? I wanted to join Air Force Jag years back, but could not coordinate things with DH. Your X-Ray gig ain't everyone, so I can understand changing careers. Peepee and poopoo, gotta have a stomach for all of that. DH is an Accountant, so I know the red tape involved with obtaining the CPA. Good luck, girl. You're gonna get paid!

I'm 33 years old and I am self-employed and work in Corporate Recruiting. Which can be dangerous cause I make a lot of time to get on LHCF through the day... but I'm a workaholic so I make up for it :yep:

I love to travel and just got back from Rio de Janeiro Brazil and can't wait to plan my next trip.
Not married but have a great boyfriend and wonderful friends... enjoy my life and am a bit obsessed right now with my hair care.

I love the beautiful heads of hair on this site and I too wish I would have found this type of support a long time ago. I have learned SO much and can't wait until I reach my own personal hair goals.

Thanks! I'll be attending Howard U School of Law. I moved all the way here to the DC area from Texas and boy is hair treated differently around these parts!

I moved back to Bama to finish high school in 11th grade, and here I am. I work on an army depot, which is still strange to me. I lurked here for about 20 minutes before I subscribed. My hair is a little past APL but I want it to be mid back soon.
 
Hey Everyone I'm Sunshine Baby and i've been lurking on here for a year a couple mths now. I became a member on Jan 5th of this year and it has been amazing. I am always in the hair section on this board because lhcf has taught me so much(i mean to say the ladie here)THANKS A BUNCH!!:yawn: I work with govt on a social project in my country. I really don't know what length my hair is cuz i've been stretching for 26wks as of yesterday.(WILL BE REALXING 1 DAY THIS WEEK)

I'm hoping to get past APL my next relaxer which is this coming wk. My ultimate goal is MBL. I don't quite have a regime i just mainly bun and wear weaves. (lots of PS).
I have no children yet @ 25yrs(hoping to find a wonderful companion) and i'd love to get married one day before i reach 27/28(HA HA:grin:).

When I first arrived, I had BALD spots (the size of quarters) from a botched, too-strong relaxer and a stylist who didn't give a damn. :hot:

I started transitioning to Natural the same month I joined LHCF, April 2008.

My transition was loooooong (over 2 years) and the "Transitioners Support Thread" helped to keep me sane. Thank you, Bublinbrownshuga :huggle:

I BC'd on June 30, 2007. I was SL all over when pressed.

I'm currently rocking a sew-in weave and have my hair braided up. I plan to take it out for good in October (when the humidity in Houston dies down a LITTLE bit :rolleyes:) and start giving my hair some TLC :)

Right now the longest layer (back) is a little past APL when stretched! :grin: The shortest layer is probably chin length when stretched. I am very happy with my decision to go natural and my hair is now THICK, long and curly.

One day I will have a fotki. I swear :lol:

Personally- I am single, no children, dating... :)

And omg...homework/boyz that took me the longest to figure out. I think I just figured out like yesterday. lol I'm lyin. I like love school. You could call me a nerd. When I'm at home, I'm bored. I hate being idle. I'm always into something. I'm takin like 12 hrs this summer which is krazy and unheard of to many. It's kinda fun though. I'm happy I'm out of school on Thursday!! Whoo Hoo!!
 
My name is KelleCarter. I started lurking in August 07, and paid in April 08. I'm originally from Philly but moved to NC with my dad last August. My hair was around NL when I joined .. now I can practically taste APL.

When I graduate HS in 2010, I hope to be WSL or very close.

I love LHCF very much, and even though I didn't want to move down south at first, I'm glad I did because if I hadn't I wouldn't have found y'all.

Plans on attending Duke, and then a law school, but not sure which one.
 
hello! i'm nappychic.. my irl nickname is sully. i am 18 and from louisiana (ugh!). i'll be starting college next month so i'm pretty nervous. i'm majoring in child & family studies and i hope to become a social worker. i recently big chopped in june, so i'm still trying to get used to my natural hair.. but i'm loving it!

i've been lurking here since i've been 16, but haven't taken my hair-care game seriously til this year when i started my transition in january. anywho, other than hair i'm currently dealing with a makeup obsession.

currently, my favorite television shows are america's best dance crew and jon & kate plus 8. nice to meet ya'll! :grin:

I'm an officer in the US Army and I'm currently stationed in Italy.

I've been lurking since Nov 2007 and recently got with the program (paid) June this year! I'm 4a/b relaxed and thinking hard about texlaxing.

I'm married to "my boo" with NO KIDS!!!

My goal is BSL by 2010. I am currently SL. I love LHCF!:grin:
