I'm so excited, count me in. I plan on wearing the baggie
24/7.
---------------
Hair type: 4a/relaxed (affrim regular)
Hair length: 14"
Goal: Brastrap by august 2006
Count me in. Excited about seeing the results. I'm trying to get the picture thing straight so I can post.....I'll let you know when I get it up and running.
DSD!!! you bad woman, don't tempt me to take on another challenge. Or i'd have to rebuke you in the name of Jesus, then start reciting the Lord's prayers. Good luck!!! everyone.
Just wait. DSD! I'm gonna invent a baggie method for TWAs and yall are gonna be jealous!! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif /images/graemlins/tongue.gif /images/graemlins/lick.gif /images/graemlins/cool.gif
Last week, someone recommended that if you want some baggie benefits but do not like wearing buns, you could just wear a baggie from the time you get home until you wake up in the morning. My question is ... when doing the baggie method this way, will I have to wash the oils out every morning or is it okay to wait until my regular wash day? My hair is natural and I would be doing it on dry hair. Thanks!
I have been doing it for 2 months now so I'll join you. It'll be longer than 6 months for me and I'll probably always do this but I'll join anywho. I'm in it 98-99% of the time /images/graemlins/smile.gif
I want to join, I don't know the exact day I'll hop on but i will....as soon as I get me some new pins so I can be sportin some of those tight buns like Boadicea's. /images/graemlins/rofl.gif
I'm in. Whoo hoo!! /images/graemlins/clap.gif
I have about 7 inches of natural hair that shrinks to about 3 inches. If I part my hair down the middle I can get two pigtails. So I plan to do this along with the wig challenge b/c the pigtails are NOT cute.
Is it ok to use a shower cap around the ponytail instead of a sandwich bag? I will be trying the baggie method tonight and I have no sandwhich bags /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif
Im in! In my nursing program, we have to wear uniforms and our hair up every day to school, so since I have to wear it up anyway, I might as well get some extra benefits out of it. MAYBE by the time I finish the program Ill even have bra strap (or close) hair!
My plan is to wear my hair in a french braid, baggie the last few inches, and roll it up and tuck it under. I can either leave it like that or make it loose enough to where I grab it and put it in a satin scrunchie, then it looks like a balled up braided bun and u still cant see the baggie. Ill only wear my hair down the week I get it relaxed(bc thats the only time it looks presentable and I like it anyway...lol)
yay Im excited /images/graemlins/smile.gif /images/graemlins/clap.gif /images/graemlins/clap.gif
I'm in. (maybe not the whole time, but definitely for winter months) I've been doing it for the past few days and my hair is so moisturized /images/graemlins/smile.gif I can't wait to see how it affects my ends in the long run.
I am in! I ran out of S curl, then I ran out of constant care for ends, then I ran out of Sta-sof-fro, so now I am moisturizing with Wonder 8 oil and vaseline. When that runs out, I will use vaseline and olive oil.
Okay, I was tempted before, but ya'll are SO making me want to join this /images/graemlins/clap.gif! I'm already doing the protective style challenge (w/either a bun or a wig), but I'm gonna see if I can master this baggie technique so that hopefully I can reach my goal sooner.
Question: For you experts- do you recommend doing a dusting/small trim to start out to make sure that there are no splits to begin with?

You could try doing a loose puff, applying oils to the edges and covering just the puff with a plastic cap at night; I have tried it and it works great. I know how to crochet so I am thinking about making some type of a "puff snood" that can be adjusted with a ribbon.

I would recommend a trim only if you have splits. Otherwise a trim before you start is not necessary!!
