I keep hearing good things about ORS. So, this is an actual Lye relaxer? Hmmmm.... I'm trying to find a good relaxer to stick with for a long time and I'm sure I need to stay with Lye because of my already porous hair and since no-lye leaves the cuticle lifted, I'm sure my hair would be a mess. I wanted to copy Kinikakes but I just don't think I can do the no-lye at this point. I'm trying to decide between ORS Olive Lye and Mizani Mild. I'm really starting to be nervous about buying relaxers from the BSS because who knows how long they've been sitting on the shelf.

Cayenne, I think you and I are in the same boat. I typically use ORS No-Lye but it left my hair dry and dull-looking, though I had body. So for this last touch up, I switched to Phytorelaxer Index I and that also left me underprocessed, dry and limp. So, I'm really wondering if our problems have to do with using No-Lye relaxers. I am thinking of trying ORS Lye when I relax again, this time in October. I was warned about No-Lye years ago, but was to scared to use Lye. My hair is already very soft and fine, and I think I'm still beholden to all the stereotypes about Lye relaxers being too harsh for soft hair.

I'm still at a loss...

The last two relaxers that I had have been Affirm, I think mild. At first I was not happy with it because I was used to bone straight hair (Mizani sensitive scalp). But now I love it because my hair has more texture and body.

ORS Olive Oil Lye Normal strength, the back 15 min and the front 12 min. It's good stuff, not harsh at all, and I did not burn.

I recently switched to ORS Lye, and I agree.

ORS no-lye - best thing that has ever happened to my hair:)
I love ORS no- lye so much, I don't even wanna try Phyto any more. you know the saying, it it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am through with lye for good. :nono:my album is a testament to the grotesque nature of what that lye does to my hair and scalp.

I've been usually lye all my life and I haven't had any problems with it. I've used Designer's Touch for several years and loved it. Affirm didn't impress me and Silk Elements overprocessed me in the crown and I was left underprocessed everywhere else. I guess I'll stick with DT until I get the nerve up to try ORS Lye or Mizani Mild.
The saga continues. lol

I wouldn't say my hair is REALLY fine, but I've switched to ORS Lye, Normal strength and I LOVE it!

I just recently switched to Mizani Mild, from Motions Oil Mild. My hair is noticebly thicker just after one touch-up.
