I tried a new technique for in order to get sleek buns. While having the deep conditioner in my hair, I will place my hair in a bun. Then I rinse my hair with my hair still in the bun.

My hair felt moist when I rinsed out the deep conditioner. I didn’t use any leave-in though because I thought I would have to undo my bun. I did use Mielle Maximum Hold Gel Styler after I rinse because I wanted a sleek bun. Maybe that was a mistake.

My hair feels dry this morning. Perhaps I should have used oil after I rinsed in the bun? But then, I would have to undo my entire bun again.

Any other tips?

I think you did good! The next time you may want to consider rinsing, putting in your leave on conditioner and an oil, then do your bun.

You are experimenting and learning what works well for you, for your current hair and your current lifestyle.

Dry hair can break. I think it might be worth the time and the effort to redo the bun. I bet it looked cute!

The 2 things that stood out to me, is the amount of friction you put on your hair with the scrunchies and the hair brushing.

Have you ever thought about using silk scrunchies. To minimize any type of rubbing on your hair strands. This is what I use

How often do you bun your hair and use the boar bristle brush?
Even thought they say Boar bristle brushes are for our hair. Is it a legitimate boar bristle brush?
I use those scrunchies as well and highly recommend them.
