Well since I have the Trade Secret hookup I decided to try some kpak. I got the whole line but have not had the chance to wash my hair. However, I have used the k pak serum this week and let me say


I AM HOOKED!!! My hair never, do you hear me, NEVER looks good after day 4. By day 4 it is always dry, and just looks out of place. I have used the serum a few times since I washed and styled my hair using PM products a weeks ago and my hair still looks as good as it did on day one. I could go another 3 days without washing if I wanted to. I haven't even been tying up my hair with my scarf in the past couple of nights. My hair is smooth, has body, and has retained soooo much moisture.

I think Im going back to my good ol' serums. :grin:

What is the name of the "serum" that you used?

Ok, so I think I am going to have to try joico. I am not feeling my hair right now and maybe different products will make it act right.

I purchased the whole line but I haven't used it yet. I will start next wash and see how my hair likes it. I have been stretching any shed hair that I find and I have noticed when I stretch it, the elasticity is B A N A N A S. Last year I used the moisture line and it was "OK" but if the rest of the kpak line is as good as the serum it might be a keeper.:yep:

I like the kpak line better than the moisture recovery. The kpak line has of variety in products.
 
I use the several lines every week.

I use K-Pak (Chelating Shampoo or K-Pak shampoo, Cuticle Sealer, Reconstructor, Intense Hydrator and Split End Mender) on Mondays.

I use the Moisture Recovery on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Joico for LIFE!!! :grin:

Now to get me some of dat serum :sekret:

BTW how is that split end mender? I was thinking it wouldn't do any more than the serum. I got the Kpak chelating poo, poo, reconstructor, intense hydrator, smoothing balm, and serum. I had to hide it when I got home so I wouldn't get the side eye for having a big ol trade secret bag full of new products:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

I like the split end mender. You only have to use a tiny bit. I just ordered the serum and I will compare the two.
 
Oh, I forgot. I also use the Daily Conditioner every day for my braid outs.

How often to you use the serum? Will using a little daily with the Daily Conditioner be too much?

I use it pretty much when my hair feels a little thirst lol It is very moisturizing for a serum. I think in the last 7 days I have used it 4 times. I couldn't tell you about the daily conditioner because I wear straight styles. Since I wear straight styles, I don't used water based products except on wash day. But I haven't had any build up from the serum so I don't think it would be too much at all.

I love Joico Kpak. It has really slowed down the PJ in me. I stocked up the last sale JCP had but I didnt get the serum cause my hair usually hates serums but now I may have to give it a try. Nothing mositures my hair like the IH!!

I am under my steamer right now doing a pre-poo. I will them be doing my 17 minute miracle routine today instead of Monday (I have been traveling and my hair needed some TLC ASAP!!)

I will be trying the serum today as well as the final part of my routine. I will post my review tomorrow. I already know that I am going to LOVE it!!

Well it was because of your great reviews of Joico that I even got interested in it. Have you tried the Joico Moisture recovery poo and con yet? And if so, what are they like? I want the k-pak line and the moisture but only if you say they are pretty good. TIA.

I have a few already so I am currently stocking up on my Joico line.
 
Dang you Shtow. I bought 4 new conditoners today and I had to hide them in my big purse so DH would not see. Now I'm t hink about getting this whole line. It's to much. Can't decide. I'm going to have a melt down. On the other hand, it's a good thing I have a job now to support this habit, lol.

okay this is what I was looking for but may I ask why you like the kpak line more than the moisture recovery line? I mean, isn't one the kpak line supposed to be only protein? Help, need some clarity on this.

OMG!!! JOICO is my LOVE, my heart, my baby daddy ...:cry:


Ok, dramatics aside. I tried the serum as part of my Joico routine yesterday. Initially, I could not feel any difference. But ....

This morning my hair felt live heaven! I took down my braids for a braid out and my hair has NEVER felt softer or more moisturized! If I EVER attempt to use another line, just send me a cyber slap :hardslap:

WHat is the "17 minute miracle" ??? Can you leave it in for longer than 17minutes?
 
The 17 Minute Miracle is a part of a system that includes (in order of application):


  1. Joico Chelating Shampoo - 2 minutes
  2. Joico Cuticle Sealer - 5 minutes
  3. Joico K-Pak Reconstructor - 5 minutes
  4. Joico Intense Hydrator - 5 minutes
I have followed the timing to a "T" and I would not recommend leaving it in for longer.

Also, I do this without heat.
