Wowee, what a journey and i've learned alot from so many people! Especially my natural sisters. Thank you!

It's gonna take a minute to get over the shell shock - my hair has only been this short once in my life and that was about 20 years ago.

I put these coils in last night and finished making up some sort of style this morning. Now to go out and face the world LOL.

There's a few small permed ends here and there that will be getting dusted as i come across them.

It's just about grazing shoulder length so i've got a loooooong way to go but i'm gonna have fun while i'm waiting for it to grow back.

I'm SO glad i'm done!

It looks nice. It's hard to believe you cut all that beautiful hair off.:look:

lawdy knows i can't believe it either D but i was getting tired of trying to camouflage the relaxed hair. it just kept getting worse and worse and more obvious even with the braidouts.

i've been taking small whacks at it over the last couple months just to get myself ready but nothing really prepared me for the final cut :(.

gonna jump on the next growing train i can get my arse into LOL.

btw, thanks ladies - it's a HUGE step for me and a personal goal i've been trying to meet for a long time.

CLUTCH THE PEARLS!

WOW! Your hair has always been so beautiful. It will be back in no time. What did your husband say?

It's funny you asked hehe.

I waited until he got really busy working (distracted) before i did it ;)

i think he's fascinated, really. he has never seen my natural hair, barring touch up time that is.

i cut it yesterday mid-morning and we had some good sex last night so i think i'm in the clear :lachen::lachen:

Your hair is beautiful and like the new 'do. I have to ask one question though....Why were you perming your hair when it's obvious you already have a silky/straight texture. What was the benefit?

well looks are so deceiving Bre and my hair is extremely deceptive looking.

it seems to be silky/straight depending on the style but trust me, i have naps. they may not be the kinkiest of the kink or the tightest of the tight but it is definitely afro-textured hair that i never learned how to live with through the years.

since i never really knew anything about my hair cept it was wild, frizzy, untameable (seemingly to me anways) with poofball tendencies, i thought relaxing would give me that straight, silky sleek hair of my dreams.

i relaxed myself with vigorol when i was 15 years old. when that didn't "take" i stepped it up to something stronger.

Wow... there ought to be a law against this (like smoking and drinking prohibited until a certain age, esp. w/out adult supervision).

That's the approval right there!:lachen:
You still have a lot of length to play with!!! I think it looks beautiful!

Welcome to the natural side.

It is going to be an incredible journey with all the twists and turns of a major drama flick.

We are all here for support, encouragement, and everything else in between.

Enjoy what you are going to learn not only about your hair but about yourself as a person.

PS. Glad hubby seems to be onboard also! ;)
