Is anyone NOT on the Ayuvedic bandwagon?

I'm not.:nono: I keep my regimen as quick and easy as possible. My hair is at its longest and healthiest right now, so I just let ALL the bandwagons pass right on by.

I can't deal with all of this Ayurvedic brewing and cooking stuff. Too much work for the kid. I have to keep my reggie simple when it comes to my hair, or else it will become a chore.

I'm generally not a bandwagon-jumper-on-er anyway.

I'm not is becuse i haven't find any indian store yet. I'll love to try aturvedis stuff though.

Me 'cause I had a scare. I did some rinses with hibiscus which was cool, nothing to shout about, but not bad....then I tried a tea rinse which was WHACK-A-LACK-A-LACK :nono: my hair was HAAAAAARRRRRRDDDDDD son, like Aphogee 2 step hard. In retrospect, it was probably 'cause I made the tea too strong, but it scared me. It took a while to get my hair back to normal.

I don't think that ayurveda on a whole is whack but I tend to get excited and overdo things...so for now the most I do is coconut oil pre-poo. Eventually, I'd love to try henna I seen ppl get some lovely results :yep:

I am, at least 2/3 of it. I use the oils every single day, but never tried the powders! But 2010 I will. I need to drive up to Chicago to the Indian market and do a little shopping spree!

The oils are super beneficial for my hair. I took one of my braids down to do a sneak preview of my actual hair and I am loving the effects of the oils. My hair is back to what I was born with as far as thickness. Another added pro is my hair is gaining it's length back. I am going to be in braids for 2 yrs doing the c&g technique and I must say it's definately working! Very well for me.:yep:

I am not because I don't change what isn't broken. I am happy with the same regimen I came to the forum with, with the addition of DCing and ACVing so no need to change anything. Also I hate using products that I have to order online. If I can't just walk over to CVS and pick it up, I'm probably not interested. Recently I read about Henna making changes to hair texture and that didn't rub me the right way so I'm glad I never tried it. I love my hair as it is so much that I'd rather stick to the "devil" I know.

ETA: A friend sent me Vatika oil a couple of years ago. Meh! I don't think I ever finished it. Not sure what happened to it. Wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Mind you, I don't care for oils so meh!

I’m currently not on the bandwagon as it seems very complicated, time consuming and I’ve found a simpler regimen that works wonderfully for me. I have however bought the Chagrin Valley Ayurvedic Herb Shampoo Bar; if I like it, I shall continue to use this and may also try Henna in the future. These will be the only Ayurvedic items in my regimen.

I've been trying ayurveda for a couple months now, and it has agreed with my hair. I'm a mixer at heart so it doesn't bother me at all and it takes me as long as if I would wah my hair normally which is 1 1/2 hrs then air dry

I did about 3 or 4 henna treatments last year before I gave it up. I found that it was too messy, too time-consuming, it didn't smell good, and I saw absolutely no hint of a red tint - and it's not like my natural hair color is jet black.

Because of my lackluster experience with henna, I was hesitant to try the other ayurvedic powders (amla, brahmi, maka, hibiscus, and fenugreek) but I'm glad I did. I feel like it's added weight and density to my hair, which cuts down on shrinkage. It also feels AMAZINGLY soft after every treatment. I only do it about twice a month though.

i find it kinda dumb to practice only the hair portion. if you do Ayurvedic practices, you have to treat the inside of your body as well, I don't think anyone will see the full benifits with out the diet and exercise involved the spiritual aspect of it may had additional hair benifits as well

I bought the powders, oils etc. I used the Cherie C method. Did not work for me AT ALL. My hair was constantly dry and straw like, it looked dull, I still had breakage and the whole method was complicated and took a ridiculous amount of time do. To anyone thinking of using the Ayuvedic hair remedies I'd say do your research and use it properly. And please remember that just because these products are natural, this does not mean that they are not strong and cannot cause damage. They can be just as strong as non natural products.

I had this experience when I tried her method also. However with research and tweaking to my own needs my hair is now thriving from Ayuveda.
See this post.

I use the oils (vatika and amla) and I purchased the powders, and even used them a few times. But it just became too time consuming, and I really didnt see much of an improvement in my hair's feel or look, so I said forget it. I do use the amla powder on my face and it does make a nice mask.

Im not on it because my reggie works 4 me.... I try not to fall on bandwagons:

1) because I cant afford it
2) I feel if it aint dont broke dont fix it and my reggie aint broke
