Modified C&G - in braids now
Use mixture of braid spray and infusium once every other day concentrating on my hair (not scalp).

Alternate scalp massage with:
BT & MN mix
Doo Gro megathick oil
bhingraj oil
(This seems to be doing SOMETHING) I braided on the 25th of Jan and have what appears to be .5inch new growth- only reason I don't think its slippage is my roots are black and my previously coloured hair is light brown *crossed fingers* I'm right we'll see.

Once a week apply conditioner to dry hair and sponge off

Every 4-6 weeks take out braids do a hard aphogee and DC for 2 or so weeks then back to braids.

MY FIRST POST!!

I WASH MY HAIR EVERY FRIDAY OR SATURDAY DEPENDS ON HOW I FEEL,
I PREPOO WITH OLIVE OIL AND MOTIONS CPR
I WAS WITH KENRA MOISTURE SHAMPOO
THEN I USE KENRA MN, I LET IT SIT ON MY HAIR FOR ABOUT 15 WITH A SHOWER CAP
THEN I ROLLERSET WITH A MIXTURE OF WATER, EVOO AND SERUM.

IF I AM LIKE 8-10 WKS POST THEN I JUST CW THEN I OUT INTO ABOUT 6 PLAITS TO DO A BRAIDOUT.

:lachen: :lachen: My regi is a book!! I'm on the low-mani, protective, Ayurvedic path.....

I scalp massage 2x week with amla oil, I wash once a week with shikakai and amla, I DC weekly, I detangle every other week, and I henna every six weeks - that's the short version. I tend to add/edit/delete a lil bit of this and a lil bit of that, depending on what I feel like doing... the only thing I stick to religiously is the protective bit.
lol woah tailbone in 2017 LMAO you have really be calculating havent you?

My regimen is simple:
Wash Sunday and Wednesday
DC for 30 min moisturizing cond
CW with Suave Humectress
oil rinse with amla oil
John Frieda Anti-frizz
Giovanni leave-in

Protein as necessary maybe 12x per month
clarify as necessary - Suave Clarifying poo

Chelate as necessary - I love ORS Creamy Aloe Poo

Airdry
then twist into Bantu knots or Flexirod set
how do you oil wash exactly?

This is my new reg...

Once a week I use Lustrasilk Olive Oil Cond. as a pre-poo/dc, rinse then apply Elsta QP's Recovery and seal with coconut oil. I airdry with my hair parted down the middle and a flexi-rod on each side. I moisturize at night with Recovery and seal with coconut oil. I relax every 12 weeks with Elasta's lye relaxer.
I love QP Recovery :lick:

My current regimen is VERY simple:
*Wash & DC once per week (KeraCare or UBH).
*Rollerset after each wash, and pincurl at night to maintain the curls.
*Moisturize daily & oil 3-4 times per week with WGHO.
nice..K.I.S.S. regimen

I moisturize my ends daily and my hair when needed.

CW and DCwhen I feel my hair needs to be. (can vary from once a week or even longer)

Clarify when needed with Baking soda ( 1 a month or even longer)

Protective styling (twist outs, puffs, fros, and I have just discovered bantu knots are great. The bantu knots keep your ends tuck away when hair is not out)
how do you keep your puff looking right from day to day?..i found that i pretty much have to co-wash my hair every which wasnt a problem because i like to wash my hair

Sunday - Pre-poo with shikakai and amla oils, wash with shikakai and amla powder rinse, DC, then air dry.

Tuesday
Co-wash, air dry.

Thursday
Co-wash with shikaki and amla powder rinse, air dry.

Apply BT on days I don't co-wash.
Moisturize and seal everyday.
what has the indian products done for your hair?

Your progress pictures are really nice.

Here's my regimen, which is simple since I don't do my hair.

1) I go to the salon every other Saturday.
2) Wash and deep condition with Verifen Complex Beneficial Phase Shampoo and Advanced Conditioning Treatment
3) Hair is detangled with Verifen Complex Detangler
4) Hair Oil is applied
5) Hair is pressed and hot curled with Constant Care for Ends and Hairline Essential Cream

:dance7:

I have a second set of products--which are as follows (but the same technique is applied):

1) Cream of Nature shampoo (moisturizing/detangler)
2) Motions Moisture Plus conditioner
3) Infusium 23 (leave in treatment aka Repairology used as a detangler)
4) Hairobics detangling/hair oils
5) TCB or Softee Indian Hemp pomades.

:bouncegre
im scared of heat me and a flat iron had a fight once and the flat iron won (heat damage)

my current reggie is fabulous! It took years but i've got it down! With this reggie I'm seeing hella growth & I'm not on any magic pills/powders/serums...
  • i WASH my hair every other day(or more) with CON poo followed by Suave Humectant Condish
  • i COWASH on nonwash days unless i wake up too late or am too lazy in which case I put it into a second day puff- which I will be adding a picture of this afternoon
  • at night I apply more Suave and Baggy in a high (loose) puff just in case i decide to skip the shower in the am
  • if i for some reason I shower at night I wash or cowash and put it in a low Ice Tee braid and sleep with it like that... it should be dry by morning with some nice waves- if not i bun it
  • I DC about once (sometimes twice if i'm in the mood) a week overnight with Lustrasilk Cholesterol
  • I apply Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In everyday to wet hair (warning: this causes major product buildup but I wash freqently so I'm good)
But all-in-all i'm seeing excellent growth from the frequent washes
yay im glad you got it all together:grin:..i'm still working on mine but i guess it doesnt really matter because i wear braids all the time anyway and i read frequent washings were good because they stimulate the scalp and its always clean (growafrohairlong.com)

I just started it this month.

Mon- Alma
Tues- MTG
Wed- Amla
Thurs-MTG
Fri- Amla
Sat- MTG
Sun- break

I will write down specific dates in the calendar to perform monthly tasks. I will give myself a 2-3 day grace period to perform these tasks so I don't feel like a failure or if something comes up on a specific day and I can't do it on that day.
girl you are not playing with that oiling of the scalp..have you gotten any results yet?

I can see you've been very busy posting to every response in this thread. You must be a newbie.

I frequently CO-wash/wash too! I think this helped me get lots of growth and moisture.

My Regime:
Shampoo 1x week: Neutrogena Triple Moisture
Co-wash daily: Honey, Suave Coconut, Olive Oil/WGO mix*
DC 2x month: LeKair Cholesterol, Aphogee 2 minute Reconstructor** (alternate)
Moisture: Sta-Sof-Fro
Sealants: Olive Oil, Castor Oil
Protective Style: Baggie 24/7

* this honey/conditioner mix strengthened my hair dramatically while softening my curls
** this has strengthened my hair tenfold! I no longer shed or have significant breakage since using this~

  9. apply smoothing finishing serum by paul mitchell
  10. if i sweat alot during workouts, condition wash weds and everyday til next wash day

Hmmm, I haven't even thought about it lately. I guess it would be something like:

  1. dry condish sectioned hair (Tresemme Anti Breakage mixed with Honey and coconut oil or ghee) for 20-30mins
  2. Rinse in warm water then poo scalp with Shikakai Bar or poo mixture
  3. optional: I oil rinse with 2 capfuls of castor oil, then rinse warm H20
  4. Rinse then DC with ORS Replenishing Condish or New Platium Era Reconstructor, rinse in cool water then detangle.
  5. Add leave in, Moisturize, and seal with oil
  6. Air dry in 4 twists with rollers on ends then baggy (90% dry hair)
  7. Protective stlye, wig or hat or phony pony

Products will vary depending on what my hair needs at the time.....

Wash & DC once a week
Rollerset after each wash
Wrap at night or roll for more volume & cover with silk scarf

Relax: 6-8 weeks
