Is anyone NOT on the Ayuvedic bandwagon?

I am not.

I mean, I do use henna every 4 weeks, but I would not say I am on the bandwagon. I even read a beauty book about Ayurveda hoping to find some natural way to deal with my eczema. But, solely using all the powders and oils and things - NOPE. Henna is trouble enough for me, but I like the conditioning. I even mix in other powders, but I would never consider that Ayurveda after reading this book. That is only a TINY part of it.

Edited to add:

I did not like that Shikaki (powder or soap) as a shampoo alternative, either :nono: Glad the powder was free and the soap was only $2!

Was it something in the book that turned you off?

I'm not.

Last year I used Shikakai bar for about 6-7 months, but then I jumped back on the co-washing thing and never looked back. However, if I ever wanted to get a little suds I would use the shikakai bar before using a bottle of poo. My hair did not like the vatika oil nor does it like coconut oil, so I just decided to stick to castor and jojoba since I know my hair and scalp loves them.

I've been tempted to try henna, but every time I go to the Indian store I decide not to buy it. My hair acts funny and I would hate to have a setback for trying something that I dont really need.

I'm not on the Ayuvedic bandwagon because I already have a solid regimen and spent a lot of money recently to stock up on everything I love. I couldn't imagine spending anymore money on products that may or may not agree with my hair when I'm cool with what I've got.

I'm not, only b/c my new plan is to NOT jump on every bandwagon that comes through. So now I am focusing on what has been working for me. Now if I need to make a change in my regimen I may try it. But for now what I'm doing is working well.

Has anyone tried it meaning went out and brought all the powders/oils that was recommended and was like..."forget this" and went back to your original reggie. Not saying that it did anything bad to your hair but the PJsm just got a hold of you?

i'm not either.

Im too lazy to try henna and to make a paste from shikakai powder. etc.....my wash day is already 4 hrs long..i don't need anything to make it even longer

the closest thing i have to ayurvedic are BJ's products which i like alot.
Ive also used the shikakai bar once and had a not so pleasant experience with it. :ohwell: I'll prob try it out one more time but if i don't like it then that's a wrap.

BUT i'm very interested in ayurvedic for skin care tho

4 HOURS LONG???? What do you do that is 4 hours long?

I've still got only my toe stuck in, undecided if the water is fine. I love henna, and will continue to use it 3 to 4 times a month. I "brewed" some shikakai oil, and haven't used it again since the huge shedding I got afterwards. I love the amla oil, and will continue to prepoo overnight with it, and I even use mustard oil. But that's it. I'm creeping in cautiously!!! :lachen:

I am not on the bandwagon but I do use some of the powders and vatika oil in my regimen. I started using them this summer. I don't think it's enough for me to be using only those products. I have to have my deep moisture. What I have been doing is working well, so I won't be rocking the boat.

Nope, I'm not. I've never tried it and don't plan to try it anytime soon either. Like someone already said, it seems complicated.

Yea I bought a bunch of stuff and quit like within 2 days.

I did the amla oil thing for two days. I'm sooo over it. It's freezing here in the Bay Area and to wash my hair that often is unreasonable.

Once I started watching NajahFace videos on youtube and seeing how she did her hair for the week and the benefits of allowing our natural oils to do their thing I have quit the every day/ every other day CO-wash.

The only thing I absolutely love that I bought is the castor oil and coconut oil. My hair LOVES both of them. Out with the store bought mixes.

So I spent about $22 dollars and quit before I even started. lol. Not to mention the whole spiritual aspect of it kind of freaked me out. So I've decided to put the bottle down and step away slowly.

I'm not on that bandwagon. That seems like a lot of work. Plus, I feel like doing too little it bad and doing too much is not all that good either (THIS IS ABOUT ME PERSONALLY, NOT ANYONE ELSE). I want to K.I.S.S.- for me, that means wash, DC, moisturize, seal, and put it up- and doing all that gets tired sometimes.

I haven't because the minute I go out and buy all the stuff there is going to be another bandwagon.

i accidently jumped on...i guess. i'm just loving how my hair is reacting to it. i tried one thing, then another and another and my hair seems to really like it!
i'm still keeping my elucence though!!! love that stuff!:lick:

I'm not.:nono: I already have a simple, inexpensive, solid regimen that works for my hair, so I see no need to mess with anything else.

sounds like a cult to me. . . I'm all about prayer & cuttin back on the big macs but ya'll sound like it comes with punch, chants, and head to toe robes

No, I never got into it. I am already a pj and I have a regimen and products that work so I don't want to try to fix what ain't broke. Q

You know, I do not think my hair likes Amla Oil. it feels like it just sits on my hair. The coconut oil feels better on my hair.

Do you have a link to NajahFace videos?
