I have always experienced faster growth in certain areas of my scalp, mostly the crown and middle back area. These are always the areas that need touching up first. It seems like the growth aids have intensified this! I have a ton of ng in the mentioned before areas , but my nape, sides, hairline is moving at a much slower pace, I am seeing faster progress than normal in these areas, but my my speedy areas are passing them up!:roadrunner: Does this happen to anyone else? If so did it eventually even out? I hope so. Or did you have to snip:nono: Ever wonder why it does this? Could it be that the speedy sections experience less manipulation?

No one's hair grows in perfectly even and blunt.

If you are going for the blunt look, then you have to get trimmed/cut.... and that blunt cut will grow out faster than you'd think :yep:

It's crazy but the front of my hair grows FAST....and I see that everyone else's does too.
I guess because I can see it, I care for it more. I can get bangs cut & by the time I get a touch up they have completely grown back!

Thanks for the replies ladies , I understand it won't grow in even , LOL I just can't get over the DRASTIC differences in some areas , head lookin all lopsided!!:lachen:

My crown and midback grow like crazy like you OP. I don't know how my hair will look after some time. I'm not cutting though.

the top area/halo of my head grows so slowly. I have some kind of afro-shag-mullett deal going on.

not only does the back grow faster but i JUST realized 2 days ago when i did my WnG that the left side is a good 1.5 inches longer! Why didn't anyone tell me that?!

Luckily i have an appt on wednesday for a trim.

I don't know why, but the front/sides of my hair grow much slower than the back. The front pieces of my hair look as if I had bangs once in my life, but I've never had bangs. I'm APL but my fronts are probably CBL. And when my NG comes in it's so thick and dense in the back but on the sides I can hardly notice it at all.

What's you texture mainly in the front vs the crown onward?

the middle of my hair grows faster and the back is the probably the slowest. The front beaks faster though. idk

My uneven growth is caused naturally AND because of a few uncessary self trims early in my journey. Nappy hair hides this "flaw" and I have no idea when i'll even it up:rolleyes:

the front of my hair grows the fastest, then the nape, and the crown/back grows the slowest.. i can't rock a fro or a puff, it looks like i have a dent in the middle since that hair is so much shorter

I currently have about 5000 different hair strand lengths! As it grows, so does the unevenness, even with occasional trims!

The left side of my hair grows faster than the rest. If I didn't have to keep cutting it even ( and if the rest of my hair grew as fast) I would probably be full APL by now .

The top sides of my hair grow faster than the rest of my hair so instead of the gorgeous V when I wear my hair down I always have an inverted V and I always end up cutting off the "two tails". Yes I have even named them. :( I think the inverted V is because of the constant breakage I have at the nape area. So I'm trying to wear my hair up more often to help solve this problem. Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear that. I hope u find a solution for this , are u using growth aids in the nape area? Maybe it could use some extra protein back there. Could it be rubbing on your clothes too much? How often were u wearing it down?

I have some weird uneven growth going on here :perplexed...

My front top sides, grow sloooooooow, sides around/near the ear grow like crazy, middle back area too, center back, grows sloooooooow,, my left side grows super fast, my right side, grows super sloooooooow, In July I cut almost 2" :look: from the parts that grow super fast to look good (I was going to Vegas for 8 days and could not show up looking whack :lachen:)... I have been applying growth aides to those parts that grow slow only, for the past 4 weeks, hoping it will keep up with the rest... So far it seems to he helping...

My hair looked funny 2" longer on one side... I tried t not cut it, but it just did not look good :nono:... It now looks a lot better and I will do the same (applying growth aids) the next 2 months until touch-up time at the end of Oct. and see if this works...

I have also been paying more attention to the slow ares, making sure they get well moisturized and plenty of conditioner on them too...

I also need to do a corrective relaxer next time, I think the hair on the left side needs it...

Even though I hate to hear this from other ladies, I am glad I am not the only one...

Maybe we can find something that will help just a little...

My sides tend to grow faster, not only this but 1 side grows faster than the other.. I refuse to trim for another 4 months though!

yes! my left side grows faster than my right side, so it seems. i think it's because i'm right handed so, when i use heat and/or flat iron.. i'm more particular about my right side, i take more time on it and i'm more heavy handed so, i do more damage to my right side.

same here! My tail is about 1.5 inches longer than the middle part of my hair. When I wear it straight it looks fine, but a wash-n-go looks like a freakin mullet. I won't cut it though. I'm waiting for it to grow out. Plus I want layers anyway. This mullet happened when I did my BC last year myself. The nape area is looser plus its grown alot quicker than the middle. The same issue with the sides, they grow quicker. I need to give more TLC to the middle.

I cant tell whether the left side of my hair grows slower or if it has to do with my sleeping habits. It's weird. Left side is thicker but my right side is longer. wtf? :lachen:
