But does anyone still use Oyin Handmade Hair Dew? I'm asking because my hair was so dry! Then tonight I used Joico Moisture Recovery treatment balm and I didn't put anything else on my hair. Now as it dries my hair is soft as hell and I can't keep my hands out of it! But it seems when I used the hair dew my hair is always crunchy! Did they change their formula? Help my hair use to love this stuff! I have a liter of this moisturizer!

I have talked about this before in some of my posts, glycerin does not agree with everyones hair and can make some hair hard. Some women have to use water along with products that contain the glycerin. Others say that you have to be in a high humidity place. I no longer use products with glycerin. I found that they made my hair hard and greasy. I liken them to petroleum oils and silicones. May work for a bit and then dryness starts. I have used Oyin Honey Dew and it didn't agree with my hair. Always check your products ingredients list and see what ingredients in the leave ins don't agree with your hair is it the glycerin, silicone, keratin, panathol, soy protein, hydrolysed wheat protein, petroleum?

I mix it with other "stuff" as my post wash leave in.

Once I am out I will not repurchase.

Great company though.

It was a great leave in (diluted with water) when I had box braids.

I am sure in the future natural online hair care sites will give women more options so that if they don't want silicones, glycerin or proteins in their products they can pay a little more for that custom made blend. I would love custom made blended products catered to my needs and I would pay the little extra.

Use to love it but gave up on it after several hit or miss results. Think I even diluted it a time or two. I might revisit it once more for old time sake to see if it will work better now that my hair properties are different.

Thanks ladies I thought it was me. I'm going to try another moisturizer for a while. I'm going to get me some Qhemets products they've never let me down! And now I work very close to where I can buy them without ordering online! Yay!

It used to be my favorite but the smell became overbearing and didn't smell good with the other oils and stuff I put in my hair. I would repurchase if they offered a milder scent, same formula.

Hair Dew is very hit or miss for me. I used it last night on dry hair and immediately sealed with their burnt sugar pomade before putting my hair in bantu knots. I try to not give the hair dew a chance to screw anything up. It ONLY works with BSP for me. Otherwise, I won't use it again

Just be aware Qhemet also contains glycerin too.

Hair Dew doesn't contain glycerine

I just saw the ingredient list and it doesn't have glycerin, I thought when I used it last year it did contain glycerin and that is why I stopped using it but nope it doesn't. I used it several times and my hair felt hard gummy and greasy.

The only culprit then I can see that can cause the hardness for some women is the coconut oil and aloe vera depending on the amounts can have an effect like protein. Sorry guys.

Nope it does not contain glycerin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oyin Hair Dew is one of my staples. I also use their juices and berries hair spray. My hair is moisturized without being greasy or too soft.

I love Oyin Hair Dew... but I stopped using it - could be because I ran out, but I have another that I recently bought and for SOME reason, I haven't really thought about it - too many other products to get rid of, I suppose.
Anyways, The burnt sugar pomade DOES have glycerin in it - at least the little jar I have does... and it made my hair SO FRIZZY! I mean, walk out the house with a bomb twist out that I sealed with BSP... get to work and catch a glimpse of my reflection and my hair is a HUGE PUFF... Lookin for bobby pins and elastic headbands at the bottom of my purse to try and make myself look presentable. I love the way BSP smells, but I'm afraid I wasted my money on it.
They also have the whipped butter... which smells good, and my hair was very moisturized afterwards... but by the end of the day it was dry as tree bark...
Does anybody else have a problem with BSP?

Yes @krikit96. I absolutely love Oyin Products as a whole, but BSP and Honey Hemp Conditioner are horrible on my hair. HD, S&D, WP, Frank Juice, all work GREAT on my hair. Staples. I haven't tried Boing yet but I eventually I will. But the pomade and the Honey Hemp? No ma'am. Dry, tangled mess in my hair. I don't have great results with any oils unless I'm oil rinsing so I'm not too surprised the BSP didn't work, but still. Literally a 180 from the results I get from the rest of the brand.
