I'm sorry that you're going through this....It sickens me that men can be so shallow and ridiculous. Ultimately, you have to do what's good for YOU. A man should love his woman regardless of what changes may occur in her appearance. If this man cannot love you and realize this is something you need to do for yourself then he does not DESERVE you. You will find someone who will appreciate and love you just as you are and despite the various changes you may go through in life. We get enough pressure and bs to look a certain way from the media, we definitely don't need to hear that crap from the people that are supposed to love us!

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I only read the first page so I don't know if anyone mentioned this but have you tried Phyto relaxer? If you are still after the relaxed look, it may be worth a try since it is natural. I would imagine that after what trauma your scalp has suffered though that you'd probably feel more safe leaving all relaxers alone. Just wanted to throw that out there just in case however.

If you BC and he does not stick around, then he is not for you. You need to take care of yourself and if BCing is what makes you happy and is easiest for you, then do what you need to. If he's willing to leave you because he doesn't like your hair though, then that pretty much speaks for itself. Sounds like he's looking for a reason though...

DH hates short hair (only know this since dad's wife has a platinum blonde fade) but I cannot imagine him behaving like your BF over hair. He is a BF and not even a fiancé anymore....he has no say.
