The statistics that were in Jet are correct. Brown and black women are twice a likely as white women to get type 2 diabetes, which also comes with a side of heart diease, kidney diease, limb amputation and blindness. Obesity has a direct link to diabetes. Sorry to be morbid but, I spend my working day discussing type 2 diabetes and it's complications.
My real question is does anyone know how to do a nice "up do"? After my workouts my hair may not need to be washed but, it is wavy because I am natural and my scalp gets a little moist. I wash twice a week but, in between washes, I would like to wear it in a professional up do, something other than a bun--maybe a french twist, A lil sumthin sumthin professional w/ some natural curl to keep things sexy.

I still get hit on at the gym so I figure it's gotta be working. I've also learned that if you aren't going to wash, it's best to leave your hair up until it dries and calms down. When I do rinse or wash I co-wash or use an ACV rinse and make sure to massage my scalp really well to get it clean.
I see everyone else doing buns and updo's and all that. I cant do no updo.
Its getting to cold for wash and go's. I may have to get braids eventually, but Im very afraid of braids drying my hair out.
*sigh* its very frustrating... I dont want my hair to be the cause of me not working out. But trying to maintain a professional apperance w/ frizzy, puffy, 10weeks post after workout hair aint exactly happenin.
. I would never allow my hair to stop me from taking care of myself. What good is a lot of hair or a cute style if you are dangerously overweight and out of shape???
I really need someone who has figured it out to help me and my sweaty weave before I loose my mind
Its not stinky now cause I wash so often but that is causing a lot of dryness and matting due to build up for me when it comes time to take it out (a 9 hour mission
Girls you gotta help a sista out cause I'd hate to loose my 24" waist just to have waist length hair!
