The rubber at the base that holds the teeth is now ribbed. I tried to avoid this by being gentle, but my hair getting thicker and longer is even stressing my 3-month (maximum) old Denman. As for my smaller one- the rubber ripped . How do I prevent doing this as I've tried to be more gentle, and still this is happening? I love those brishes but they are too EXPENSIVE to keep buying new ones so fast...

BTW I'm natural 3c/4a

This happened to my Denman also...but after like a year. I noticed it started breaking down quickly when I used it with product. maybe you can try rinsing it well and drying it before you put it away. I know it's an added step but it might help with the longevity of your brushes.

Which two are you using? You may want to look at the D41. In a few other threads people recommended this one because it is better for detangling especially type 4 hair.

I just checked it out it looks great. I'm just not sure where to get it from as my BSS doesn't sell it (I think)

Yh my Denman's breaking down as well. The rubber keeps sliding out of the plastic holder. I have the smaller one, D4 I think? So I'm gonna get the bigger one because my hair is getting longer and the smaller one can't brush through it easily like it used to and I don't wanna rip out my hair.
