I need help finding a flat-ironing tutorial!

I am currently stretching my relaxer and this stretch is going well. I am thinking this may be the one that I take to 18 weeks (at least).

The problem is that I have an event in mid-June. I will be 13 weeks post when the event rolls around but I really would prefer to take my stretch longer than that.

Do any of you know of a good flat-ironing tutorial? I would prefer to rollerset and then flat-iron my roots only. I do not want to risk taking that direct heat down through my relaxed hair. I haven't used direct heat in YEARS.

I think the reason you're not getting a response is this topic is discussed almost every week with the same info being echoed over and over, so a search would've gotten you some answers. Also no one method works for all. Everyone sort of has to find what works for them, so you probably will have to use your best judgment after seeing all the many methods there are and then just try the one you find least likely to damage your hair. Sometimes the only way to learn is through trial and error. Hopefully, you'll not have to learn from a mistake you make but that one of the posts below will help you see how to avoid that.

Here are a few threads on straighten hair with the different methods we use:

Thanks for the links Nonie. But, I am not natural. I am relaxed and will be 13 weeks and 1-2 inches post by the time of the event. I posted the thread because I am concerned about getting the roots straight without damaging the already relaxed hair. The videos you post are all of naturals who are pulling the flat-irons all the way through to the ends of their hair.

But, I do appreciate you taking the time to look those up. I didn't want you to think I was ignoring your post.

Check out Patchouli85 YT channel. She made a very detailed flatiron tutorial on thick type 4transitioning hair that had 2" of NG. The hair looked shiny and healthy and she showed the clients hair 8 months later, and she had zero heat damage.
