I need some tips on flat ironing. I am a 3c/3b (heavier on 3c with very loose 3b in the back 1/3 of my hair). After washing and conditioning, I pull my hair back tightly and air dry. It is relatively straight at this point. I then flat iron. It gets straight and sleek but won't stay that way. Within an hour or so, it is fluffy. Very soft and very fluffy.

Here are my products:

Can't remember shampoo. Something clarifying.
Bumble and bumble Deep Conditioner mixed with a Redken Protein Treatment
Kinky Kurly leave in
Redken Smooth down Butter treat
Sabino Moisture Block
Some cheap heat protectant
Chi flat iron

The second day, I tried some Chi Silk Infusion while flat ironing. It helped some but it was still fluffy.

I assuming the problem is partially technique and partially product. Please help.

does your leave in have glycerin in it? glycerin pulls in moisture and can ruin a straight style.

It does not have glycerin but you just made me realize that it might have something else doing a similar moisture pull.
