I Knew My Hair Was Growing When...

When I could see my ends hanging down in front of me when I was washing my hair.
When I started to have to be mindful of my hair when putting on my bra.
When I got my hair caught in the car door and like said upthread, didn't realize until I turned my head.
When I find myself chewing on my ends because I'm not mindful of my hair getting in my food.
When a stray hair gets in your eye and it takes forever to find where it's coming from to get it out of your eye.
When brushing my teeth I have to hold my hair out so that I don't spit toothpaste on my hair.
Feelng bugs crawling all over you when it's really your hair.

I could actually pull it and see my split ends. I couldn't comprehend that concept of a single strand splitting until i saw it with my two koro koro eyes

When I flat ironed it and could feel it touching my back!
When I flat ironed it and had to stretch my arms really far just to make it all the way down my hair!

When I realized my bangs now reach below my rib cage!

I renewed my driver's license last month, and I had a low braided side bun. I look like I've got 2 heads!!!

When I worried that my hair might have that charcoal smell when grilling out and all I had to do was pull it down to my nose or from either side and smell it.

The first time I was able to pull back strands around to the front to trim.

The first time I was able to quickly throw it up into a tuck and roll and secure it with one bobby pin! Yes! None on the sides and all that. Just one in the middle.

The first time I was able to pull it back into a bun and not have to worry about ends sticking out or having to pull it extra tight.

Co-sign on the crawlies (on my neck and top of shoulder)

When my hair started getting caught on my necklaces

I'm only SL, but it's finally a TRUE SL which I haven't had since the Jheri Curl days. So getting to this length has made a big difference to me. Can't wait for APL!

-When coworkers would want to touch my hair just to "feel" it, but I know they were checking for fake hair

-When I made random women on the street check their weaves

-When the naturals at my job questioned how I have so much hair for a relaxed girl and the relaxed girls constantly doubted I wasn't transitioning #texlaxedstruggles

-When I had to start wearing scrunchies because I have too much hair to hold up with just pins

-When women asked me if I had a sock in my bun and I'd reply with :lachen:

-When I became the relaxed ambassador at my job and women started asking me for hair advice :yep:

-When Spanish girls started asking me for advice <--- And Im trying to achieve their lengths!!!!

Are you transitioning to natural hair? Did I read that some where or is it that I am confusing you with someone else?

Maybe it was someone else but I've been considering it. I tried for 4 months and then I went back to a DIY relaxer. :look:

When i outgrew every hair accessory and tool. hair is longer than my arms are so rollers are impossible.

today for the first time, my hair got caught on a doorknob!! i couldnt believe it.

Doorknob??!! can't wait

When the comb got stuck because I hadn't cleared combing through my ends before I went up, for another comb down stroke. I had to twist and unravel my hair out of that comb. That was a first for me!

When what looks like a huge clump of hair turns out to be one really long curly strand of hair!

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

When I started to notice a radical change in the way my family used to see my hair. Before, when I was saying "I want my hair to reach my waist" everybody was like "Poor little thing, she really thinks she can" (I used to see it in their eyes if they didn't say it aloud). Now when I say "I want my hair to reach my bottom" everybody is like "What will you do with so much hair? You current lenght does not give you enough work!!" priceless!!

When what i used to consider doing a "puff" is now an Apl curly ponytail.

My curly ponytail now swings and can rest on my shoulder.

When i was in the shower yesterday combing my hair in sections and was able to fling my nape hair behind my back...it hangs Apl/bsb when wet...SL when dry.

When my coworker said "long hair don't care" to me w/my hair in its curly state:woot:

When my mom finally said to me yesterday that she thought my hair was pretty. :)

When my wigs somehow keep rising higher and higher off my head even when I have 5 (and counting) wave caps to contain my hair under the wig.
Yes! :lachen:

-When my 7 week old lots of new growth minibraids are still grazing APL.
-When I do a style and my best friend asks me "Did you add hair to that?" LOL.
-When everyone that I encounter from family to friends to the eyebrow lady either comments on how my hair has grown, how long it is, or asks me "is that all yours?".
-When my hair started getting caught under my purse strap.
-When I could feel the weight of it on my back. Yay!

When your brother's girlfriend looks at your hair and says 'wow our children are gonna have a lot of hair!'

Awww... too cute! What a nice compliment! :yep:

When the tip of your pony touches your back/top of shoulders even when its not in a low pony

Now this will be a dream length for sure! :yep:

When my brother said "you don't have to style it, when you have long hair like that you just do whatever and it looks good."

When it gets caught in my arm pits.

When I get weave checked at work, by a male.

When I take a length check pic and don't recognize my own hair.

When I can touch the bottom of my hair and not feel the pressure on my scalp (that one is hard to explain).

When I turn my head and my hair gets stuck in my neck. :lachen:

My hair is short compared to LHCF standards of course.. but it will get there. :)

When people constantly ask me "is that all your hair?" When I wear it down or in a ponytail. When I could reach behind my back and feel it hanging. When I constantly have to adjust myself when I'm laying down or sitting down so I'm not laying on it.

When i had to buy the 5lb tub of EcoStyler gel bc the 32 oz only only lasted 2 1/2 weeks!

When I run out of 16 oz of conditioner in a week.:look:

When fingercombing is not enough anymore:perplexed

I can stretch my nape hair over my lip and make a mustache and twirl the end while doing so:lol::armyhat:

When your ponytail hangs lower than Apl.
When your ponytail gets caught under your armpits.
When a former "friend" accuses you of lying about your hair. (Apparently my hair was fake cause she saw a couple of tracks. :spinning:)
When non-black girls are asking you for tips to grow their hair long.
When you can pull the white girl: *take hair out of an up-do, give it a shake and it magically looks fabulous!!
