Remember the change won't come overnight. I see that you have 20 posts and joined the board on Nov. 30--so I'm assuming that alot of these hair care tips, techniques, and strategies are pretty new to you. Give it some time. Chances are that you are still dealing with hair that you had prior to your coming to the hairboards and taking in all of this knowledge. That hair is still affected by past damage even though you've started a great new haircare routine. Give it time...

Yep.

It took me about a year to get rid of all the damaged-beyond-repair hair and grow out thick, healthy, strong, pliable, moisturized hair. The results were gradual and cumulative.

I agree with all the suggestions everyone has posted. Two other thoughts-

* with the colder weather, do you have a humidifier? The drier air will zap the moisture from your hair, so whatever progress you're making will be hard to see right now.
* have you ever tried sleeping with conditioner on your hair? I wash my hair in the evening and once I've put on the conditioner and cap, I leave it on until the morning. You will have at least 6 hours of conditioning and your hair won't be exposed to the air for that time.

You've already got great advice, so I just wanted to chime in and say hang in there, honey! Getting a good stylist could be a start, though you have to be careful that the stylist isn't a scissor-happy fool. Even after you get your hair back into shape - and you will, because all of us have had major setbacks - a stylist can be a setback if all they want to do is snip. Since you're new, it's worth it also to read through old posts because they're chock full of great info. Good luck with whatever regimen you choose and please keep us posted.
