Usually, it's 6 months for me. The next time, I think that it'll be around 4 - 5 months. :scratchch

When I as relaxing I relaxed every 3-6 months. Mostly on the month end. My new growth isnt that hard to dela with, it just revert like a mutha! Its always curling up but a tight scarf fixes that :)

has any one that has been using mtg and surge get a returch an it burn really bad i need to know:perplexed
i imagine most people take a break from surge and MTG a few days before their re-touch. might be hell otherwise.

I was trying to do 12 weeks, but it was rough for the stylist to put the relaxer in when I was 12 1/2 weeks post.
So this time I'm going to go between 10- 11 weeks. Back in the day I used to go 7-8 weeks so this is still a stretch for me.

I voted every 2 months b/c that is what I have been doing since I first got a relaxer. The longest I have ever stretched was 10 weeks.

But right now I am 8 weeks post relaxer, and normally I will be getting ready to hit up the salon for a relaxer but......

I am gonna stretch to 16 WEEKS! If everything goes well I will continue to get a relaxer every 4 months from now on. Wish me luck!

I relax every 6 weeks, which I know is bad. A few months ago I tried stretching, but I only made it to 8 weeks. I'll try again.

I relax every 10-12 weeks. I was trying to hold out til Christmas but if I wait that long the new growth will be out of control and I don't think I'll get a successful relaxer.

When i first started relaxing my hair i was doing it about every 12 weeks but that was because i had no money. At the time i didn't know what i was doing with my hair inbetween relaxing.

I went on to relax every 6 weeks thinking it was the best thing for me, i noticed that my hair wasn't as healthy as it used to be and i was getting breakage (probably because i didn't know how to take care of it). Now im going back to relax it every 12 weeks if i can. Since joining LHCF i've found a regime and products that seem to work for my hair and im currently 9 weeks post and doing ok.

I relax every 15 months
what's your hair type? and how do you wear it in between relaxers? 15 months of new growth is a lot! i can only do 12 months by wearing sew-ins.

I used to do 12 weeks, but that was w/o washing too often and getting blowouts (both bad). Then for the last relaxer I did 8 b/c I was washing more and didn't know how to properly moisturize my newgrowth. Now that I do know how to, I'm shooting for 12 again, washing weekly and using mtg. BUT b/c mtg accelerates growth, my roots now are just getting to be out of control and I'm only at about 7 1/2 or 8, but it feels like 16 wks! I'm still relaxing at 12, but if I continue to use mtg, I don't think I'll do it again. Maybe 8 next time.

Hi,
Im a 4a/b. I wear my hair in the baggie method for 2 months using wigs, and then I put my hair in extensions for 2 months.

I used to relax every 4 to 5 weeks when I wasn't caring for my hair... but now I relax every 13 weeks...my hair has improved alot since i've been extending my relaxers.

I probably get my hair relaxed between 8-10 weeks, I can't go longer than 10wks without having problems with breakage and my scalp gets really tender and hurts.
