How many wore their TWA at this stage?

Leshia girl you better stop playing and rock that hair. You look great!

Seriously, it takes time to adjust to the new look. I wore a scarf for an entire semester b/c I wasn't used to the way I looked. When I took it off the compliments were endless. It took me about 6 months to get comfortable with my hair...but they only way to get there is to get to it!

That femininity = long hair belief is BS. It takes a minute to get over it in your own mind, but the trade-off in confidence is priceless.

You'll be fine with some clear gloss and baaaad earrings. Get 'em girl!

Wore my TWA, although it was about 5" long stretched. It was a little weird--for about a week. I wore a phony pony once on a weekend--it just wan't my thing. I didn't feel the need to wear extra makeup to compensate for my lost hair (I chopped about 9"), but I did like having a little lip gloss.

Sometimes I miss the ease of my TWA.

Oh No! Don't take it the wrong way. Your skin is lovely. These things will put the focus on your face and not your hair. As far as concealer, I'm speaking of around the bottom of eyes. I know that a lot of women that don't wear foundation will wear a concealer.

Oh, I see. Well, thanks for coming back to clear that up for me. I may need some concealer, not sure, but I know once I start putting that on, it's only a small step before I go foundation crazy. (I know because I've done it before and swore to never do it again!) Thank you.

I have been wearing my TWA since day 1 without a scarf or anything like that. I got my cut less than 3 months after my last relaxer and I rocked it from there. I had less than an inch of hair because my beautician cut out all of the scab hair. I loved it. I stopped to get my brows arched and that was that. No need for all of the makeup, even though I love it. The TWA stage was the most beautiful stage of my journey. It put my face and smile at center stage and I loved every minute of it.

Try it out.

Ah, smile on center stage -- you're genius! I love that. I'm really wanting to try...

I think she meant concealer to go with eye makeup. If you put concealer on your eyes first, it makes the makeup go on and stay on better. Without it, the makeup will crease and wear off during the day.

Oh, I see. Well, maybe I should go to the mac counter and get some...

*laughing* I am being stupid, huh? I've never been one to feel like I needed LONG hair to look good because I don't look good with long hair. I sure hope my compliments are endless! You're right but lemme tell you, if after I finally have some confidence about my twa and my husband stares at me and asks where's my scarf, as I'm walking to the door, I'm gonna beat...him...down! You got my back, right?

It IS easy (and kinda' fun)! I love to look at it but I guess I'm afraid that someone won't accept it and say something really mean or something. I'm SUCH a chicken about it and didn't realize it until now...

Girl stop doing all this comtemplating and just wear it out!! You'll feel better after you get it over with that first time.

If your TWA is the one in your avatar you betta rock it! You look gorgeous.

I wore my out...I loved it...the hair is not long enough to get tangled and I wash and go'd the whole time I had it.

I've been wearing my TWA since I BC's and haven't looked back! Love it! In fact I'm trying to enjoy it now, cause I know I will miss it being short and easy once it does grow out.

This is me in NYC this past weekend w/ my TWA:

Yeah, that was when I had a little more hair left on top but it's ALL gone now!

Hey Loco,

Regal, eh? That's awesome. Thanks for your comments and is it weird to say I love your teeth?

I am wearing my TWA out right now and it's probably about that length, maybe a little longer. Anyway, I think it's more about confidence more than anything else. I know you are probably lacking it since your husband gives you those "looks". Trust me when I say that I know those looks. The thing is that I know I look good. I don't care what my FI says or how he looks at me. He just doesn't like natural hair unless it's hair that looks like 3-something hair. He'd prefer that I relax but he knows that's just not what I want to do right now.

You have such a beautiful face and your hair and its color is so hip. I bet people would think that you're some kind of model or something if they saw your hair like that. I'm sure it looks better than that darn scarf that you use to hide your hair! Go ahead and wear your hair proudly. Know that you look good when you walk out of the house and don't let anybody else convince you otherwise. Now's a good chance to really get to know your hair and let it come into its own. Wear it out so that you will be comfortable with it later on when it gets bigger.

That's it! I'm wearing it out! thank you all for your wonderful comments and by the way, this post was beautiful. Thank you SO much.

i wore my twa from the very day i cut it. i thought people were going to hate it. WRONG! Men, women, children couldn't stop telling me how much they loved it. Mind you I went from BIG curly texturized hair, to a short bob, to a TWA in 2 weeks. When I got back to school that fall I was scared at first but I think I may have pulled more guys then than I do now with my length. LoL. Just do it once, the reactions may surprise you. You're beautiful so go show off!

By Sept that TWA will be gone.....that definitely is not the length you will need to be "getting" over, as soon as you get used to it...bam your hair is 4 inches long ...the hair hump has yet to come

I had to come back to look at your siggy again. Man, that must have been heaven going to that Aveda salon. It looks amazing! I'm also very anxious to have enough hair to start going back to the salon. That's my vice -- salon visits! Great pics.

I didn't rock one as small as yours but I did have a smaller TWA than now. I really liked how it showed off my features.

Girl you are so pretty I don't get it, with that color you would look hot with whatever, I rocked my twa much shorter than that I couldn't even hold it that's how short it was, I was basically bald and marked a barber shaped it up for me after I went nuts and cut all off with a paper sizzors lol, no but seriously do your thang honey, and be confident and feel great and have a talk with your huzzy, let him know you don't appreciate his support and he should stop that,

I just looked at your fotki, Leshia. Your TWA is very cute; I don't see how anyone could think otherwise.

sorry to hijack the thread.no it's not weird lol.Thanx for the compliments!:)

You're welcome! And by the way, your dress inspired me to wear my dress almost exactly like that one and sport a bohemian vibe last night in DC for the fireworks. Thanks for the inspiration!
