Maybe never for me!! Right now my ultimate goal is WL. Who knows, maybe somewhere along the lines i might BC and decide to go natural. It's a never ending journey.:p

1.5 years for me. I should be MBL by then. I'm a short person so i don't want to be known as the hair lady. lol

I will be having fun learning how to style my hair once I reach MBL.

I have other things issues in my head to toe make over that also need my focus.

2012 or after because my journey is never ending. After I get my to my relaxed hair goal I might go natural and grow locs. Who knows I may come back relaxed again.

My goal is waistlength. After that, it's all about maintaining. I've paid my dues at BSL for long enough, so I'm thinking I should be at full, healthy WL by the end of '08 for sure!:D I better be......:look:

My goal is Hip Length and I have exactly 6 more inches to go so hopefully *crosses fingers* I will be there this time next year.

I put 2012 and beyond because right now my hair is pretty short. then im probably gonna BC in another 10 months or so ( which would probably only leave me with about 4 inches unstretched.) THEN my next goal is APL unstretched. And THATS gonna take a while cause my hair grows at the rate of a snail. :)

And who knows what my journey will turn into along the way..

Great thread.

I'd say my journey will end Mid 2009 when hopefully i wil have Full BSL hair (Please God pretty please).
Afterwards i shall be stopping Biotin and bl**dy MTG. I'll still continue on MSM and Flaxseed oil tho...the health benefits are worth it.
I'll wear my hair 50% up and down for practicality(...my hair is shoulder length yet when i had it down last, i realised that everything seemed to want to get caugth on my hair:mad:...lip gloss, handbag...insect (eww).) At work it will be up mostly but wheen going out, my hair will be down and swingin!
I'll also continue weekly washes and DCs...,Moisturising (like now,) will be whenever my hair feels like it needs it.

I voted 2008. That would have made four years of constant hair care. I will then continue to maintain my hair but in moderation.

I think caring for my hair has really taught me something about myself, that I CAN be dedicated, persistent, complete goals and I am patient. (Well, maybe not patient..I cant wait till brastrap. But you ladies know what I mean) I have struggled thru trial and error and learned from my experiences with the help of all of you wonderful ladies. I am thrilled about our knowledge sharing.

Sorry to ramble but I am excited to transfer these skills to to other areas in my life that need improvement. Based on what I have learned I CAN do, there isnt anything I CANT. Where there is a will there is a way!

This goes for all of you wonderful ladies as well!

Bests!

For me, the health/maintenance is a lifestyle that I want to incorporate forever.

I hope to be at full BSL in the next year or 2 years from now. That's how long I'm giving myself. I know it's not going to take that long, but that's how long I want to give myself in terms of trying to maintain growth AND health. I don't think I want to grow any more than lower-BSL or midback, simply because it would be too much hair for me. Plus, my hair is too fine and soft. Unless I can thicken this mess up, I wouldn't want to increase the chances of damage with longer hair than that. The #1 goal for me is maintaining health.

Once I reach my length goals, I will also decrease the vitamins/supplements I'm taking down to a good multi and perhaps biotin or B5 (for thickness). I hate taking all the ish that I'm taking. I've learned so much from you ladies and it has helped me tremendously. I echo the sentiments of Serenity Breeze! I love you ladies very much! ;)

Ultimately, I would like to become natural again if the Good Lord allows me to reach my 60's. If and when I go natural again, I'll have the same goals: healthy, APL or BSL length. I know my hair can grow because when I was natural before, it grew in very nicely! ;)

I hope to reach my goal of MBL by mid 2008, after that its all about maintenance for me. It's a long road and I know at times I have to sacrifice style for length protection but in the long run it will be worth (I hope).

i'd say no later than 2012. Honestly, i'm longer than brastrap stretched but something i've noticed that i've always done- given myself too little time to acheive my goals. I think i'll be waist by 2009 but I want to give myself some time in case I need to chop anything due to damage. I think waist is all my (and then some) com 2012 and hopefully by then, i'll be damage free and can finally cut off all of those terrible burnt bits from that time I straightened my hair.

I'm not sure now. I was reading something Supergirl said and it inspired me to do the same. I've decided to stay at the length I am until it grows in full to the very ends.

I realized that the ends of my hair are a bit thinner because it is the oldest part of my hair...and it's probably the most processed from the past. The rest of it is fine.

I was just about waist length but I can hold out until I bring it all down thick and lush and blunt--I looove blunt cuts.

I am very happy with my current length, although by genetics it is extremely thin.
I will continue with my hair practices for a lifetime, so the journey will never end. The final hair goal for me, if my hair will continue to grow will be WL. I don't think I can manage anything beyond that and due to how thin it is, it probably would not look attractive on me. If I was younger, then oh yea!

This is what I most likely will do too. I have a section that is shorter than my entire head and its causeng the left side of my hair to appear thinner. So I decided to just gradually trim until it catches up instead of waiting until I reach whatever length I get to and hacking 5 inches off. Might as well do it now.

I will reach my goal length probably the end of summer (APL) from there, it'll just be maintenance and gaining thickness. I don't want it much longer than that, just personal preference. Now, I just want ravishingly healthy looking hair like my hair idol's hair...THAT BE YOU KINIKAKES!! :rosebud:

I should reach my final goal of waistlength by Christmas 2007. After that, I plan to spend 2008 maintaining that length with regular trims, thereby gaining thicker ends. Then, who knows, I may just go for hiplength or tailbone...just as long as I can maintain thick, blunt ends.

I want to say december 2008 and thats what i picked. i want to be at lower waistlength and i have i think 6" to go so i think it will take about a year and 1/2 because i still have to work on these relaxed ends. i'm really hoping for this and maybe i'll see the benefit in all the trial and error in my haircare.

I am voting mid- 2008.

After that, I won't focus so much on growing my hair. I mean, I KNOW it will grow, and I will still do the things that I must do, like deep condition, moisturize and rollerset, and touch-ups every 3 months, but I probably won't be documenting it as much.

My ultimate goal is to be a few inches from waistlength, so I assume I need to grow about 4 inches of hair to be where I want to be.

A year is plenty of time, but I'm willing to hold it out for that long.

I'll give myself 3 years. I only need 2, but I included time for setbacks. Plus, I like to underpromise and overachieve. That way, no one is ever disappointed. *shrug*

my journey will never end. iw ill foever be on a quest for long healthy hair, ad ni know so long as i continue to relax, it will never be truly healthy. but my ultimate goal is wasit by 2008-dec

UPDATE: My new goal is TBL sooo the "growing" portion of my journey will end whenever I reach that...hopefully sometime in 2009.. After that will just be upkeep and implementing what I now know about hair care

for my length goal (which is about 2 inches below my brastrap)
i'll say....give it about 3 years!

but as far as haircare goes
i will never meet a destination!
OW OW!

For me it is hard to say, I have Goals that I want to achieve but as far as a Journey, I think for me they go hand in hand, But as far as an answer, I will say maybe around the end of 2008, all I want is unstretched shoulder length hair, But maintaining will never end!

I'd say exactly two years from now I hope to be WL. I'm only 5'1", and have a round butt, so I think anything past WL will 1.)hide my butt, and 2.) make me look even shorter...

But anything after that will be maintainance, and keeping things evened up. I can't imagine rollersetting CL hair, which is what I wanted at first.

I want to make it to BSL by December 2008 and then it will just be upkeep. However, I know that my journey will never end...because one day...Ill probably just cut it all off and start over

I pray that it will end in 2008 when i will reach MBL then I will do the thicken up challenge and maintain my hair at MBL by trimming my ends to make it fuller!

I will be done probably Jan 1, 2008. I only want BSL with long layers. I am a couple of inches away and I should reach that before November, since I am a serious trimmer. I am giving myself till Jan to get where I need to be. Well then again I do need to grow out my bangs and some fairly short layers in the front. I will say mid 2008.

That would make my journey 1 year or so long. I did not set a length goal until late last winter. Until then length meant nothing to me because I lived for shrinkage.
