I have no idea....

whenever I make it to bra strap length--on both sides of my head. i'm about an inch beyond APL now--but my right side grows a lot faster than my left.
So I'm walking around with lop-sided hair.:look: Thank God I bun nearly everyday....

i think my journey will end once i reach bra strap - in about 2-3 years. now that i'm locked it's really just a 'sit and wait' journey. besides retightenings there isn't much more that i can do.

but i do plan on quitting all growth aids (bt, vitamens, etc) once i reach a solid arm-pit length. once i'm there i think i'll have the patience to grow naturally

I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I will say that I will focus on the growth of my hair up until 2009, and then after that will just take care of it as usual, without experimenting with new things. By that time I will have my staple products for maintaining whatever I have and stick with it.

I think my journey will last a lifetime (in terms of maintaining healthy hair). I'm not sure what my ultimate goal is.... maybe MBL or WL? I don't know. Going to be awesome though. :D

Hopefully Jan 08. By then I'll be at at least mbl in my curly state and that abou as long as I want to go.

How long is your hair now stretched BlackButtaFly? My goal changed once I went natural. I only wanted APL hair at the longest but now that I'm natural it'd probably have to be double that length to hang at apl unstretched. I think I'm gonna settle for shoulder length unstretched. :ohwell:

I am going to give myself 3 years since I am just learning now, and I have to factor in unforseen mistakes etc. I hope to be at BSL by that time. After that I plan on just upkeeping, and enjoying my hair and all its future glory:D

I guess I view my hair journey as several "mini-journeys". My first journey will end in Dec '08, which is when I plan to BC after transitioning for 2 years. I hope to be APL unstrecthed by that time. After that, my next journey will focus on perfecting my natural routine and growing my hair to BSL, which will take another year. All in all, about 2 1/2 years:look: .

I believe I will be midback by the end of next year so I voted 08. But I don't think my journey to keep my hair as healthy as possibly will ever really end. Just for the length part.

i just did big chop #3 in march 2006. so my growth journey will end sometime in 2011, hopefully:) -- @ 5 yrs or whenever i reach 25 inches stretched  ... i'm usually able to go at least 3 strong years keeping up my regime (vits./supps.) but then usually from 15+ in. onward i get lazy with it, and my hair stops growing as fast:look: , which takes me longer to reach my goal:ohwell: . but we'll see how i do this time around:grin: ... but anyways, after i reach my goal, it'll just be about maintaining it at that length for a while. hhg

By Dec 08 I should be full hip length, my ultimate goal (although once I get there I might change my goal again. I am just hair greedy  ). After that, I will completely drop all the growth aids, and vits ('cept the ones I feel improve my overall health). It will be all about maintaining then, but I will probably never drop protective styles completely because I actually like them by now.
I started in July 06, so that will be 2 full years.

I hope only another 2 years to brastrap. I should be a full shoulder by the end of this year so I hope to make apl by the end of next year then brastrap by then of 2009. If I don't make it by then, then my journey will keep going till I get to atleast bra-strap length. I won't stop taking vitamins and such just because they benefit more than just hair but once I reach my goal, I will relax. I really want my hair long enough to take a pic of my hair idol, go into a salon and actually get a star like makeover. Once I can go that, then I will be complete.

Took the words right out of my mouth. :p LOL. These are exactly my hopes/plans.

I'm going to say in about 5 years. I want to transition to natural and be brastrap length stretched.

I'm thinking 6 months-1 year more then I should have even hip length (maybe tailbone) straight hair and BSL/midback curly, cause it's just growing like a weed.
But with shrinkage, you never know how long it will hang, I may have to grow it out to classic stretched just to get midback/WSL curly. Maintianing the health and length that's forever.

I think in 2008, my journey ends. I want to be at full bra strap and continously growing healthy hair and I think this will end my journey.

My journey will end June 2008,, by this time I hope to be full midback.. so another 18 months to go.. and I will have my dream head of hair:lachen: which I never thought possible until I found you blessed ladies.

ill say it wont ever end because even when I get to my goal APL, which probably wont be until late 2008. I'll still be doing daily moisture, weekly DC, I wont change my regimen. After APL I'll just see if it continues to grow.

Many years. I'm just getting started reallay. Mine's a pretty easy journey though. As someone said earlier it's not really a journey its just a lifestyle that I enjoy. :)

I'm in the Braid Challenge so I'm going to say when I remove these braids sometime in 2011. One of the reasons why I joined the braid challenge is that my son will be getting braces in 2008 so I figure if he can wear those things for 3/4 years then I can wear braids for just that long. By 2011, I hope to have healthy brastrap or armpit length hair. I don't know what to expect because this is my first time actually wearing braids so anything is possible. All I intend to do is re-do the braids every 4 weeks, spray with Scurl every other day and wash it every week. I won't be doing any deep conditioning or anything, just washing and Scurl and that's it.

Hopefully, I’ll be done with my hair journey by 2010. After that I think my routine will be more simple and on autopilot. There will be no growth aids, no tons of vits. I’ll just focus on upkeep, and really begin to enjoy the long healthy hair that I’ve worked so hard on. (I’d probably still take biotin and MSM though). I'll probably still wear protective styles and be cautious and informed, and have healthy hair habits and read hair product labels (hopefully by then, I’ll already have staples and won’t need to product jump)... I probably won’t frequent hair boards like I do now, or visit hair albums, if I do, it might just be a little here and there (maybe I’ll be giving advice instead of asking all the questions to help other future “newbie’s” lol) after all the time and energy that I’ve put into my hair so far... and with all that I foresee me doing between now and 2010... I know it will be hard to just shut off all my obsessive hair habits like a switch....

My goal is to be APL by the end of this year... BSL by the end of 08, and then a blunt even cut WL by the end of 2010. Still, I voted for 2011 on the poll because I know that unexpected setbacks can and do happen, so that extra year is just a buffer for me... also, if I’m not too exhausted with hair by the end of 2010, I may put in one last "push" for tailbone during my bonus year ... but we'll see... I'm at shoulder still just trying to get to APL!!!

i honestly have no idea when my journey will end.

i have all these goals, however realistic they may be, and it just depends on what my hair wants to do ..

Ultimately I would like to be bottom BSL by Sept, Right on MBL by Jan '08 and then WL by sometime summer or even the end '08.

Im just going to do the things i need to do (vits/water/haircare) and let my hair do its thing...

I don't really have an end date :)

what there is a end date for is ALL this protective styln and walkin around in plaits lookin a hot mess business....that has an end date! :lachen:

My journey should be over by November 2009--my two year anniversary of my BC.

I plan to be at BSL stretched in June of 2008 and I hope to be BSL unstretched in Nov 2009.

After that I am not worried about progress, I will just maintain my simple regimen

Well... With the stuggles i am having with my hair currently... NEVER.:(

But, i hope to manage upkeep @ shoulder length natural, maybe APL(which is honestly too long for my personal taste). But i am thinking about starting a hair blog and product reviews. I also think that the nature of LHCF can be a bit "older", so maybe starting a "LHCF-ish" forum for the younger generation could be in order.

Anyhoo... i hope to complete this journey in 3 years of less.

I am hoping that it will be over December 31, 2007. That's my birthday and I want to be MBL while I whip my hair around in the club.

NEVER!!!

I always want to be conscious
of taking care of my hair...
but...
my goal is FULL APL-BSL...
I estimate to be there by April 2008.

Well it all depends on how fast my hair grows, but if it were to grow the average rate of 0.5 inches a month it would take me about 3 yrs to get to mid-back because im starting with nothing. However i WILL (speak like into words) make it before then...after that i'd just take 1 viviscal, b complex, multi and msm as maintenance.

Hopefully 12/2008- the latest 5/2009.

I've just made top of BSL, so full BSL could be as early as 10/08(with a trim). My ultimate goal is MBL and thats about 6.5" away...But in a sense my hair journey will never be over, as I truly enjoy seeing the product of my attentiveness when it come to home hair care. Eventually I want to get my old color back, but not until a bit past BSL.

Good growing ladies!!!
