How does it feel???

In 2009 when my ish is hangin and swangin, Imma ressurect this thread and type out a whole essay! :lachen:

Love all the posts here! Very inspiring!!

WOW.....this thread is getting heated!!:lachen:

I can't wait until my hair get a little longer then I'll have some stories to tell. The only thing I can contribute now is that it feels like spiders on my back :look:.

great responses in here! this is a lovely thread :).

LOL at all the sexy stories :lachen:
I always wear my hair down when we have playtime in the bedroom

It's great to read I'm not the only one . My DH is VERY ademant about me wearing my hair out during playtime...LOL! He's always complaining that I wear my hair up too much and that the head scarves are total turn offs... :ohwell:.

My hair is currently about an inch from waist length (I'm high waisted) and yesterday I wore it down while I was getting ready in the morning. My favorite thing is how soft it feels against my bare back and the fact that when its cold, it actually warms my skin. It kind of makes me feel warm and cozy... I like flipping it around and tucking it behind my ears, but the feel of it on my bare skin trumps all others.

I remember when I was a little girl after my hair had broken off badly and was short, I used to pretend towels and long t-shirts were my hair. Sometimes I even put a rubberband or a scrunchie on it to make a ponytail.

It feels wonderful! I love, love, love my current length. I'm about an inch shorter than what you see in my avatar. I like wearing it down and seeing the double takes and stares. I like the confused "Is that all hers?" look.

I like being able to trim it without losing length. I was in desperate need of a trim, and I got trim happy. I straightened my hair the other day, and I went to town with those shears. But it was good for my hair. It looks thicker, and it feels heavier. And of course, it has more movement. :yep:

I like being able to pull it around to the front of my face and check my ends. It makes the S&D process a breeze. :drunk:

I like having to gather my hair up before I put my handbag on my shoulder.

I like having APL shrunken hair one day and WL flowing hair the next.

I like that when it's straight, it flows over my breasts. I always wanted to do artistic nudes with my hair covering my breasts, but I haven't gotten up the nerve yet. :look:

I love how THICK it is!! I hate it when I'm detangling and trying to do a "quick" anything, but when it's styled, it's beautiful.

I love the styles I can do...braidouts, twistouts, rollersets, wash & gos, ponytails, updos, buns, on and on...it's tough to truly get bored with this length.

Great thread!

Curly- Like a cloud of chocolate cotton candy. I love washing it- and playing with the different curl textures in the shower- molding the curls with my fingers. I love to peep the different curl shapes and textures from the corner of my eye. I love when my hair falls in my face, so that I can blow it away. I especially like to shake it to get it even bigger and fuller. It feels like the softest pillow when I am laying my head back. I love when little black and mixed girls stare at my hair in public and smile- because I know that I'm showing them that we can love our hair too. I really feel like a queen.

Straight- Like silk. My favorite place to wear it out is at home, because my husband always tells me how sexy I look. My straightened hair has a LOT of body and is light and fine textured, so it blows in the wind and is easy to flip around. I love wearing it up and then removing the clip, pins- whatever- and letting it cascade down. I'm a hair exhibitionist- I know people are staring- men, women, black people, white people- thinking whatever they want to think. I love oiling it and combing it- and having my hubby comb it, or a friend play with it- I get tingles.

velvet- i just sent a letter bomb to your house! all your fault ur making me 222222222 jealous!

I love the way my hair feels on my back. It kind of tickles. I love playing with my hair in the mirror to see what styles I can create. I love it when I go to sleep and I have to move my hair so I won't lie on it.............

THEN I WOKE!!! :lachen: see, I can dream!!
Im loving this thread too.

Look, your time will come. But for right now we want to hear from the ladies with long hair now. And My time will come too. You don't see me up in here postin about how my BSL hair/wig feels down my back or blowin in the wind. :giggle:
Of course when it's extra windy...I feel :nervous2: instead of :gorgeous: ...worrying if it may slip back or even fall all the way off... Man, I can't wait til it's real!

O MY LORD! I actually sat down and read all the responses throughly to this thread. I LOVE IT!

I love Divine Inspiration's response the best! It really made me anticipate WL even more. I am so happy that I have LHCF so that I can tell you guys how I really feel. People around me used to make feel bad for having the hair that I have. I can't describe how- but they do. In 2nd grade I can remember one of my bullies saying that my hair was just my baby hair and that it would fall out soon. Also when I was younger I used to brush off compliments abt my hair and say something bad about my hair to counterattack the compliment. It's so hard for me to accept a hair compliment in person to this day! I always change the subject or something. I don't know if its because I don't want to boast or come off as prideful. Whatever. One day I hope to overcome this.

Let's try now.. teehee

- I love it when I am taking an exam and I can't really see anything around me because my hair falls all over me to my desk.

-I love it when my guy friends drool over my hair every time they see me they comment on how much longer my hair got and how they always only want to see it straightened :ohwell:

-I love thinking about how my WL hair will look in long loose spiral curls on my wedding day

-I can't wait to take family pictures with my future children and my WL hair. lol

-I can't wait until a get a length where a scissor happy stylist can set me back so much anymore.

I could go on and on. sigh.

**Things I don't like:
My hair ends snagged in my big handbag today while hoisting it on my shoulders. It really hurt. :nono:

The amount of energy and work it takes to deal and care for natural hair.

I can't wait to have people sweatin me to straighten my hair so I can telll them I don't do it often. And don't even front--you know you luv dealing with and caring for your natural hair. Nothing is wrong with being proud of your beautiful hair. And feel free to boast here. People can be jealous of what they don't have and try to bring you down. If you pretty or curvy or have beautiful/flawless skin, pretty long hair or pretty short hair, whatever...you shouldn't feel like you have to walk with your head hung low like you ashamed. Now when a person is stuck-up about her beauty...

This thread has been so much fun to read. I've enjoyed all of your stories. Here's my two cents. :)

I have a long way to go before I catch up with Poka, and Cichelle. My hair is semi long; just past BSL. I love the way it feels on my back when I wash it in the shower. It's like cascading silk, and such a contrast to it's wonderful fullness when dry. I like pulling it to the front to detangle. Although I don't wear it straight and down often, I am also a flipper. There is no other way to move it out of the way when getting a drink from a water fountain. I love wearing it up with hair sticks, flexi-8's, ficare's, and bun holders. I'm so looking forward to the day when it is BSL when shrunken!

ME TOOO!!!!!! All the time! :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: (esp. the ponytail thing!)

this thread is hair-gasmic btw! (good job OP!)

well... my longest layer is just touching the top of my brastrap when straight, my shortest just shy of APL. my longest layer shrinks up to barely touching my shoulders, shortest layer is right below my cheek.

i LOVE wearing my natural hair out. i get all kinds of attention on days like yesterday... it was breezy and my hair was blowing everywhere. kinda made it hard to see, felt like i was always surrounded by coils. :lachen: but fun because my hair never gets "messed up" afterwards, it falls back into place easily after being windblown. everyone else had their straight hair pulled up or back, and i'm strutting down the sidewalk all sexy-like.

it is nice when straightened too, because it's so thick. it's like being surrounded by a silky curtain. :yep: (i will admit if i am shirtless and no one is around, i will lean my head back so i can feel my hair farther down on my back and imagine what it will be like next year... )

this thread has me at work cheesin at my screen:grin:

I can so imagine wsl hair and I haven't even reached apl yet:wallbash:

Keep the stories coming, Ladies!!!:yep:

I.LOVE.THIS.THREAD.

I can imagine this and it will happen! Natural ladies keep it coming! How does it feel when the wind or water hits all that thick cottony hair?
