keeping the humidifier on full blast 24/7
heavier moisturizers and conditioners
my silk hat and no wool garments
buns or pinning hair up

Can you recommend any places to buy cute silk hats?

I don't know how cute they are but:

It's not 100% silk, but there's no wool. I bought one in every color.
I also had a coworker knit me one that is 100% silk. It's not as stretchy, but the color is cuter.

Thanks so much for posting this link! I think I will get one of these hats... and they've got some other great hair-friendly accessories here, too!

Bumping for any new ideas! It's starting to get cold here :cold:.

So far, I've sewn satin to the inside of my hat... but I can only wear this when my hair is down. Not sure what to put on my head if I'm wearing a protective style :ohwell:.

bumping... any more tips out there, ladies??

I STILL haven't reconciled how I'm going to keep my head warm and my hair safe at the same time :ohwell:.

I am wearing my 3/4 wig this winter. It provides both of these needs for me - keeps my hair safe and my head warm. It also allows me to work out several times a week without worrying about my hair.

nothing special, i figure if other "people" dont have to do anything special , why should i. my hairs fine and growing so i dont see the point in doing anything extra.

I have to wear a hat in the Winter, but once I started learning about my hair, I realized that my wool caps weren't very kind to my strands. So, last year I bought one of those satin headwraps from the drugstore, cut off the excess (the sections you tie around your head) and sewed in into my favorite wool cap. I stitched the satin material into the cap around its perimeter as close to the edge as I could get, leaving gaps in between my stitches so my cap could stretch. This hand-sewn lining made it though all of last Winter and multiple washes in the machine . It was very cheap (the wrap was $2.99) and my hair was always neat (you know how knit caps can cause static and muss your hair when you remove them?) and moisturized :yep:. I can post pictures in my fokti this weekend if anyone's interested.

I love this idea!

I will be wearing ponytails (since I can't seem to do a bun to save my life) and wearing a silk hat that I've been thinking about purchasing from tenderheaded.com.

Can you update up after you've purchased this hat and worn it for a month or so? Thanks!
