how do you feel when you snagged a hair?

I get a little depressed. I think about it and devise scenarios where I could have prevented it; and then I strategically plan for future snag prevention.
:lachen:

I get double annoyed. I'm losing hair and I've got raggedy nails.
:yep:

also I feel like I killed a hair ... like staight up murder ... It came to an untimely death at my hands ... :look:

Usually this as soon as it happens :swearing: and this :fistshake:
once i realize what snagged it.

I get annoyed for a moment because I think about it forming a split and snagged hairs/splits adding up. After that moment though, I forget about it.

It's weird... if I get a couple pieces of breakage finger detangling my hair or something, I don't care at all. But if I accidentally snag a strand it's like the end of the world. I'll think back on it for a few hours before letting it go.

This right here^^^. I take mental notes of the fabric I'm wearing, where I am, temperature of area, is it time to do PC, protein, more moisture etc? I've actually started to shop differently since the forum:look:. I mean I pay attention to what my shirts are made of, constructed like, etc. All hats must be worn with silk scarf beneath, etc. Prior to the forum I lost a lot of ends to wool and after I had many SSK b/c of shirts with collars. Now not so much:up: For me healthy sealed and closed 'cuticled' (not a word I know) strands = nothing to snag on:yep:.
TBH, I get a little upset. This happens often in my car. For some reason the headrest area snags and pulls at my hair all the time. I've considered putting a scarf on it to prevent this, but I didn't want the scarf to stand out. Anyone have any suggestions that may help me out?
Ann0804,
The first thing I do is check to see how my porosity, moisture, and protein levels are. Then my next check is to see if it's time for a trim. Then I assess the variables I have listed above. For me paying attention to my clothes has helped with retention.:yep:

i french braided the back of my hair. i wanted it tighter,so i had my mother redo it and she wanted to use a comb! i told her she better use her fingers and make it happen! i was so scared that she was going to rip a hair out and i was going to have to stop talking to her for a few days.!

Try burning a whole patch of your hair out of your head from a heating appliance. :look: Yeah, if I can get through that I can stand to snag a hair or two.

oh i did that when i was younger. turned that Hot n Gold up to 10 and my bangs fell in the sink!

If I just randomly run my fingers through and I hear snap crackle pop...I just make a mental note to moisturize asap. But I don't trip...I reason with myself that that particular hair wasn't strong enough to make it anyway :)
