How do YOU Deep Condition your hair?

After I shampoo, I sqeeze the water out of my hair with my hands. I try to get out as much water as possible because 1) I don't want water dripping down my face and neck and 2) So my hair can absorb more conditioner :lick:

Seperate my hair into four sections and apply a about a ping pong ball size amount of conditioner to each section, concentrating on the ends. Massage it in. Apply more conditioner directly to my crown (it's really dry) then squirt some directly on my nape (it's dry as well)

Wrap my hair in a super loose bun on the top of my head, cover with a plastic grocery bag :giggle: And sit under the dryer on medium heat for 20 minutes, then low heat for 40 minutes

The end.

Overnight or during the day under my wig cap:look: , and wash it out when I get home. My hair loves it:grin:

I have done it two ways. Either I'll shampoo my hair first with a very moisturizing shampoo, blot dry and apply a healthy amount of Conditioner (one that's specifically designed for DC). Although lately, I've been moving away from shampoo and only use it when clarifying or when I feel I have alot of buildup.

Then I'll plastic cap it and get under my heat cap (and now more recently) my hair steamer for about an hour.

Or, I'll apply the DC to dry hair. It's always at least for an hour and it's always with some sort of heat source.

i prepoo with oils for about an hour with a hot towel wrapped around it. then i condition with a hot towel for about another hour or two.

looking at what is working...i think i'm going to try deep conditioning overnight. at least on the weekends!

Whenever I remember to do it...I slap it on dry hair and let it sit on my head under a plastic cap till I am good and ready to rinse it out, which can be anything from between 1 to 24 hours.

Lately, I've been DC'ing on dry hair. I use a conditioner specifically made for deep conditioning and mix with an oil, then put it on my hair. Sometimes I use heat (heat cap or hooded dryer) for 30 minutes and if I don't use heat, I keep the DC on for at least an hour.

Pre poo...........

Use product on Dry Hair............... leave on for 1 hour - or overnight.

Post Poo ( or deep conditioning) once hair is rinsed, apply conditioner liberally. Pin ends to the top of my head.........Use Saran Wrap of conditioning cap........... Leave on under heat source ( heat cap, dryer, steamer) for 1 - 2 hours. Rinse.

Wannabelong: How do you like deep conditioning on dry hair as opposed to after you shampoo on wet hair? I was interested in DC on dry hair. Do you see a difference? Thanks.

After shampooing, I towel dry. Then, I use Motions CPR covered with a plastic cap for 20 minutes under my soft bonnet dryer, rinse that out, then towel dry again. After that I use the moisturizing conditioner of my choice (I alternate this like crazy!) topped with Hairveda's amazing Cocasta oil, cover it with a plastic cap, and sit under the dryer for 30 minutes. I do this weekly and my hair seems to love me for it!

I try and do a prepoo beforehand, but I don't always. I shampoo and steam DC twice a week. As I approach further into my stretch I'll apply the conditioner in sections.

Im in love with your hair! it looks so thick and shiny  oh and to answer the question i tend to pre poo on wash days when im doing a protein treatment on dry hair. other days i shampoo, towel blot my hair then apply cond then put on my heated cap for at least 30 mins. If i go to the salon i usually get my hair steamed to deep condition. Im ordering a steamer on thursday so this is how i will be deep conditioning in the future. i havent even ordered it yet and im so excited :drunk:
