I want to do a personal challenge to try to stick to one line and one line only for 3 months to give the product a chance to work. I'm curious what you ladies think about Nexxus, Joico, and Aveda?

I mainly need moisture, moisture,moisture!

This is a great idea, imo. Recently, I purchased the Joico moisture recovery and k-pak line and they seem to be working. I have only been using them for 2 weeks now. I remember using both lines in 2006 and having some great hair(don't really know why I stopped) and decided to give them another go b/c nothing seems to be working for me. After researching scab hair, I think that this is what I am dealing with. If you decide to give Joico a try, Trade Secret has their 20% off style club on Tuesdays from 10-11a.m. and the last Tuesday of the month from 7-9p.m.

Did my homework and based on reviews here, i'm gonna start on the JOICO line.

I ordered 3 of the Joico K-Pak Reconstructor to replace my aphogee and just purchased 2 Liter bottles of the Moisture Recovery Conditioner..All from E-bay!

Can't wait to try them out and i hope i get hooked on JOICO.

I still have some Kera-damage to finish :wallbash:

I plan on using Joico soon as well, it sounds amazing. Good luck with your challenge!! :)

LOL Probably the PJ in you made you stop. I know that's my problem I can't stick to one thing long enough to finish the bottle before I'm off to another.

Thanks for the Trade Secret tip. I'm leaning towards Joico and Aveda because I was reading up on the ingredients on some of the Nexxus stuff and no likey :nono: So now I have to find out what's in Joico and Aveda and go from there. Thanks a bunch

you too....:wallbash::rolleyes:. My DH said enough is enough stick to something longer than 3 days and you will reap the benefits in the end. Let me know how the Joico works for you if you decide to try it. We can stick it out together.

Nexxus has ugh ingredients.
Aveda is high.

JOICO is the way to GO!

What are these bad ingredients that you speak of in Nexxus??

How bout the Nexxus Phyto Organics Line?

i remember mineral oil being one. some are fine with it tho.
I dont know about the phyto line tho.

Another vote for Joico, but I am biased

It's important to remember that Joico works cumulatively. So if you like it now, you'll love it later b/c it just gets better and better each wash

i want to stick with one line but i dont know how:sad:.
i love aveda but no shampoo is better than my paul mitchell the wash.
joico prolly would be the best choice but then i would miss my aveda brilliant and damage remedy:nono:.
i dont know what to do.

I'm narrowing it down...it won't be Nexxus for me because I don't like mineral oil and petroleum and they have mineral oil right in the 1st 10 ingredients. I didn't get to see the ingr. list for the Nexxus Organics..so I will have to find that.

Joico looks pretty good so far, I've been looking at the moisturizing stuff, shampoo, conditioner etc. and so far so good. The only thing I don't like about Joico are the silicones...But I will take silicones over mineral oil.

I'm having a hella time finding ingredient lists on Aveda products though. so I have to keep searching.

Do yall really think it's possible to stick with one line? It sounds good and would be a tremendous cost savings, but can you really do it? I haven't been able to find one line that I absolutely loved ALL of the products! I haven't purchased Joico, so I'd be curious to know how that works. Has anyone used one line for over a year?

I'm all Redken all the time... :) (except for occasional uses of Silicon Mix).

OT,

Awww shucks! I finally get to see what Gym looks like! LOL

And Gym what is Tricalcium Phosphate?

Hey MizzBrown...I all the way out of hiding!

Tricalcium phosphate....they use this in baking powder to prevent caking. They also use it at higher concentrations as fertilizer but it is usually labeled Bone Ash when they do it like this. This is also an ingredient in anti-acids.
In the lab, we use this in doing bacterial transformations.

I think the Aveda ingredients are on the website. I found mine there anyway.

I wanna try joico next. Nexxus didn't work for me at all - including phyto organics. I liked the shampoo better than the conditioner though. I just ended up mixing the conditioner with stuff, that's what I do all the time when I end up buying something I don't like.

I have *never* had success using one line of products.

Giovanni, is the first line that I could use several of their conditioners and the leave in... I really need not to stray ever ever again... the leave in has never failed me... Consistent results.
I could seriously put Elucence and Kenra on the backburner  and stick with Giovanni for conditioning.

Sitting here now with Giovanni's Magnetic Restruxturing Conditioner on my head

I love Giovanni conditioners..I use the silk one for my deep conditions and the leave in every day for my puffs. I don't know why I never tried the shampoo...that could very well be my "1-Line" right there.

I decided on Aubrey Organics. I love everything I have used of theirs and they have all of the good stuff I want and none of the bad I don't as far as ingredients go.

I want to use up all of the other stuff I have first then simplify my supply.
