I already have an opinion about this, but I wanted to hear what you all would say. This married couple (late 30's) has no children, aren't sexually active because of her medical problems, and the husband dabbles in porn, but he seems to treat the wife well as far as I can tell. However, he now wants to move in a very sexy fourth cousin (18 years old) who is also his goddaughter. He wants her to live with them in their 1 bathroom house while she is in college in their town. She admits sleeping with men and women and has slept with men for money. There has been no prior sexual relationship between the husband and goddaughter. Is the wife selfish for not wanting the goddaughter to move in?
 
One bedroom? No. Just spot her some rent money if he feels obligated because he is her godfather. She is too old to be crashing on the couch, no matter how close of a relative she is.

Nope. An 18 year thinks they know everything well at least I did when I was 18. This woman should not have to worry about butting heads with her husband's god daughter.
 
He's a red blooded man, if he isn't getting any from his wife and some hot young (with questionable morals) thing is prancing front of him that is just asking for trouble.

It is her home and she should feel comfortable in her own home, the fact that she brought this situation to you as her friend shows that she is not comfortable hence she needed advice/ someone else's opinion.

She needs to concentrate on her health and the good things in her life not a potential problem.
 
I thought the OP said 1 BATHROOM, not bedroom in a HOUSE... So why not for college purposes, set some rules and call it a day...

Maybe the wife is concerned that the girl will walk over them and she will not know how to react as she doesnt have any kids... :perplexed..

The god daughter is also his cousin?

The man having a sexual relationship with his cousin/god daughter is not the first thing that comes to my mind.

Anyways I would agree to her staying for an agreed upon time frame. Just so she is able to find a place of her own and move on.
 
Thanks for the input ladies. I wanted to be delicate with the situation because, like Cutiebe2 said, there were problems already. On the one hand, I think this is a soon-to-be struggling college student. Help her change her life. But the wife being sick and unable to perform sexually...well, I really get hung up on that, especially since the husband likes porn.
 
A big fat NO. I'm all for helping a young person get their life on the right track but that does not mean she has to actually live in their home. They can help her in other ways since she will be living in their town.

I just don't believe in folks living with married couples. That goes for women and men. :nono:

That's a really good point. I hadn't considered that this may be a bad idea in general.

Yep.....agreeing with the majority....No, No and No!

Sexually active with men and women at 18???!!! Having sex for money???!! She or he would be all over each other within 24 hrs of her moving in......

And I don't think she's serious about college.....She just wants some new, fertile ground.
 
Even if this girl was a virginal, church going student with a 4.0 average who volunteered in her spare time, I'd say no. This couple seems to have enough problems without bringing a third party into their home.
 
Hell Ill bite first thing that came to mind is that him and that girl will indeed be smashing living under close quarters like that...along with what everyone else mentioned

I wouldn't put anything past a horny man. Especially if it's a distant relative he doesn't think of as a real relative. I have seen how men look at their young, female relatives. Sadly, all they see are body parts.

No young, perky 18 year old will be living in my house. No way.:nono:
 
I think there would be too many issues. Help the young lady figure out another way. If the goddaddy can do it, he can spot her some money each month, help her find a part time job? If it was his sister or brother and they were homeless or something I would maybe say that they could stay temporarily (and get an agreement in writing).

Having a college student in your home can be problem enough without everything else thrown in. Who knows who she would have coming in and out the house. No thank-you.

That's what I was thinking. Him and her already have their "arrangement" made, free rent for nookie.

The dead giveaway IMO is how much of her sex life is out in the open.
