I'm so happy. I just found this site after 12 years of having natural long hair. Hairlove, my hair is almost exactly like yours (without the relaxed ends), but I've never known what to do with it. I either pull it back in a pony tail or blow dry it straight. I'm going to take a shower right now and try your hair routine!

woooooow HL. Thsoe waves got me like. 8^o wow. LOL. i wonder if i can get similar waves tryin something like that? If any of you guys buy aloe vera gel or so do yall get the kind from walmart, meijers, kroger, etc thats by Fruit of the Earth pure aloe vera gel or do yall go to a beauty supply store to get it?

I noticed hairlove's updated pics.

Very nice. The two of you make me think about going natural.

My next touch up is scheduled for January '04 (due to surgery in December '03). This will be the LONGEST I've ever gone in between touch ups (5 months). Maybe I'll keep going to see if I can handle it. I'll see.

Hey everyone....thanks so much for the compliments! It REALLY means a lot to me that so many of you enjoy my hair pictures when I know that I have a long ways to go!

asha - I am not positive of my hairtype (who is?) but my best guess is 3c

keke - Good luck with the wave production...I think the scarf helps to "set" them so try that after applying your products.

Allandra - are you considering joining us transitioners?? I'm anxiously awaiting your decision!

Tonya - I don't do anything special to create the waves. My new growth tends to come out in mostly thick waves and curls. However, I am able to 'define' them with healthy hair butter, and my gel/scarf trick to set.

Leejure - I'll trade with you anyday!!
