Regardless of what challenge you are on, no matter what growth aid you are using, what color it is...
Can you let us know how you are doing where your hair is concerned? Did you fix your problems? Did you find your regimen? Did you get NG? Sign up kiddies and lets dole out some grades.:lol::lol:

Oh... I am going to give myself an "A" for effort. For the past 2/3 weeks i have been doing braidouts with my hair while using Lenzi's Request and Dabur hair oils. I decided to straighten it for my bf and our date this weekend.. OY VEY! My bangs are all the way to the tip of my nose, my hair is less than 4 inches from away from Shoulder length.

Hey bravenewgirl87! I would give myself a C cuz I've really been slacking on taking my vits and drinking water, but overall I'll say B cuz I henna/indigo'd last night, and i can tell I have some new growth from BT, and I even managed to make it to the gym! I'm almost complete in finding my regimen, but the PJ in me says 'just try this one last product, it'll be the last one.....':lachen: oh yeah, and I have been baggy'ing every day so maybe I can say A- or B+

As a four month lurker I have been following the advice of all of the lovely ladies here at LHCF and I would give my self a B+ for being able to stimulate a greater amount of growth while also retaining my current length for the most part. However lately my poor diet (though I still exercise regularly) warrants the grade C+ in the health department and my hair is starting to suffer as result. I've had lots of breakage and I've been shedding like crazy the past few days. In the area of style and manageability I would say C- I have all this crazy thick new growth that is getting harder and harder to deal with and its getting frustrating.

Overall I'd give my self B but I'm aiming for an A on my next report card.:)

i would give myself an overall D, im tryin but i havnt actually put for the effort. :ohwell: Although while in braids i have retained a lot of moisture and i remember to apply BT everynight, my hair is SOOOO SOFFFFFFFFT. But i cannot keep my hands out of my hair so im workin on it for the next gradingn period. im trying to stay focus on all the challanges in my siggy but i dont know.......... Thanks for the thread yall pray for me that i stay on track and meet my healthy hair goals

I am going to have to give myself a D. I have been meaning to get a trim for a month now and I still have not done it. I need to step away from my maxiglide, I can offically say I am addicted, I need help!

I would give myself a C+. Every night I put in my MTG, then I mosturize with ORS Olive Oil hair lotion, then seal with EVOO and braid my hair in 2 cronrows but the next night, I take my hair loose...I still have dry crunchy ends  . So my C+ is based on consistency!

The EVOO may be to blame for the dry ends...it dries & tangles my hair when I put it on dry hair. Also, it may the ORS lotion...it has mineral oil and cones, both of which will prevent moisture from getting into the hair.

Just a thought...

This quarter, I get a B- because I KNOW i need my braids redone but I can't until next week. I am spraying my hair daily with S-curl and Infusium. When my hair gets itchy, I grab Doo Gro Anti Itch Oil (I am so embarassed to say I am using a product with incorrect spelling but the crap works).

Overall I give my hair an A- because I never trim and it shows, but it's the healthiest it has been since I was a four year old.

i am in braids but i am washing con and bagging and useing bt and takeing care of temples:) getting growth takeing vit trying to drink more water i say a c+ because of the water:lol:  but i soon will hang with the big girls:lachen: :lachen: oh i am eating better and trying to start to work out:clap:

Hi

I am going to give myself a B- because although my hair is getting longer and thicker I am still having a problem with breakage and (lots of) split/uneven ends. I need to continue my studies on moisture/protein balance and improving porosity but other than that I am cool.;)

I am giving myself a C+. I went to the salon for the first time in 5 yrs and had to get a corrective relaxer this week. My hair was severely underprocessed (self relaxers). My hair was breaking and shedding and extremely dry and no moisturization or protein was helping whatsoever! Also, trimmed about 1-2 inches, I hadn't trimmed since last Fall.

I went to a dominican salon (first time) and now know what everyones raving about. Every customer in there had HEALTHY hair. 90% had hair way below bra strap, I've never seen so much long hair in a salon before. She roller set my hair and use a chi at my roots (she didn't want to blowdry because I have some breakage around my front). I've never had my hair roller set and honestly have never had a flat iron on my hair (surprising huh?).

I needed that hairdresser badly because I haven't seen one hair come off my hair since. Thats never happened to me! I have never combed and not have seen some hair on the comb. My hair is now super soft with no breakage or shedding. It's like a complete 180.

Lesson Learned-I will be continuing to roller set after washes at least once a week. My mama was right, she always rollerset since the 70's and her hair is the healthiest hair I've ever seen. She wears it as one thick braid that reaches her waist. I will continue to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize and use protein as needed. No more self relaxing! I will use the prescribed (from the hairdresser) Mizani night treatment since its working and leaving hair soft and I don't see any hairs on my bathroom counter now. Also, continue with BT, baggying, eating right and drinking H20.

I actually think I can give myself a B. I've gotten out of my product junkie phase and now know what works for my hair. I may do some side experimenting every once in awhile, but it's rare- I have my cheapie staples. I've also mastered being able to keep my hair in the same set of twists for up to two months, which cuts down on my manipulation and allows me to be somewhat lazy all while keeping my hair protected.

I give myself a hot oil treatment and deep conditioning with every wash and haven't used heat in almost two years. I trim every 6-7 months. Carrot Juice is probably helping too. I think I'm going good so far. My longest layer is just at APL.

I give myself a B-. I wash and deep condition weekly. I have been avoiding heat lately. I also have been doing a lot of buns and other protective styles. But I have been slacking on my water, vits and diet.

I'm giving my hair an A, it has been growing good and doing quite well in all the departments, but as far as my behavior I get a 2 because I've been on and off w/the vitamins.

Holy cow - we are so wonderful!

Before yesterday, I would have said i earned an A. I am still C&G and during this last unbraiding, finally cut off all of the relaxed ends. I am washing and conditioning and eep conditioning weekly, spraying with Aphogee Green Tea and Keratin and then applying camellia, emu, or rice bran. My braider (one of my students) is doing a great job so my hairline is looking good. I am rebraiding every two - three weeks with a few days off in between.

ETA: I am still in C&G; it is very hard right now because I'm sick of braids, but I'm still in and I am very good with the vitamins, water, and exercise. So I'm doing well with the two challenges I've joined, and the two Iset for myself.

But ----

My daughter was in the hospital this week and I am taking care of the baby (he's 2). I unbraided with the intention of rebraiding on Tuesday, but did not. Last night, I had to comb my hair - it had gotten super tangling at the crown, and I finally reached the point where I was not as gentle as I should have been and I caused some breakage. Not much, but I certainly know better and should have done better.

So, I am giving myself a C for the combing/detangling and a B+ for the overall care.

Thank goodness I'm being rebraided tomorrow or I would definitely be relaxing tonight.

I am going to give myself an A in all areas.

I have finally fixed my protein/moisture balance issues with doing twice weekly deep conditioning treatments and only using protein every three weeks.

After my cut disaster I did my first corrective and actually regained over an inch of growth so I can still make my ponytail.

I have gotten more consistent with moisturizing daily and protecting my hair at night with a satin pillowcase and a silk scarf.

My rollersets are more and more consistent and I can do them now with or without a mirror in 20-30mins.

I am also more confident with my hair skills and I know it will just be a matter of time before I am a feature of the month:cool:

Imma give myself a B- I am not supposed to used heat but I some find the CHI in my hand during some of the week. A for effort.Iam taking my vits and wrapping everynight no matter how tired I am.

I get a B because I pressed knowing I didnt need to.

I have to wash it out by tomorrow to stay current with the baggie challenge.

But Ive pretty much nailed a routine and products, which is great.

I'd say I'm about a B-. I've been taking care of my hair and keeping up with my deep conditioning and protein. I've started up doing pre poos and I just did a trim to get rid of my damaged ends. Also, I no longer get blowouts at the salon and I've seriously cut back on my heat useage. The only problem is sometimes I forget to moisturize and sometimes, I fall asleep without my satin bonnet, and I like to keep my hair loose when I'm in my house. So, overall I guess I'm about a B-.

Maybe a high D because I seriously am not doing much at all. I'm wondering if I should extend my wash time because anytime I wash my hair (not rinse, but really wash) I dread it because it takes all darn day! By the time I'm finished I have a hairball the size of a teacup poodle sitting on the counter.

But I do love me some cassia. Its helped me kill breakage.

Daily Moisture A+

Vitamins / Shakes B+

Weekly Deep Moisturizing Conditoiner C

Bi Monthly Protein Treatment A+

Keeping Away from Direct Heat B

Protective Styles A+

Overall B +

Well, I haven't used heat in 6+ months (A+)

I've been keeping up my twice daily moisture/sealing ritual, and my pre-poo/wash/DC ritual (A+)

And I've just trimmed my ends to decrease tangling, breakage and unruliness (B- because I avoided it for so long)

But I have been neglecting my henna routine even though I know it works. (D)

And I still can't rollerset to save my life (D)

So, what is that a C? :(

I'm giving myself an A-.

My hair is sooo much healthier now than when I joined. I've gained some thickness (thanks to texlaxing and supplements), my hair is soft and shiny, ends are in good shape, and it's growing well. I cowashed last night and I got a little more breakage than I'd like, so I'll probably do a reconstructor in the next few days. I'm really happy with my hurr, and my hurr is happy with ME!:D

I could do a little better in the styling department, that's why I'm not at A or A+ level yet.:look:

i'm giving myself a C-. I still have shedding and breakage, however it is growing. For my July report card, I hope to see a slow down in breakage and i will give myself a B-.

Overall: B+

Washing/Conditioning: A (I have cut down from several co-washes a week to one wash, condition and deep condition per week with good results).

Moisturizing: C :look: (I have yet to find a good moisturizing leave-in. I was trying ORS Olive Oil but it dried my hair out too much. Then I tried BB Oil Moisturizer-- same problem :( )

Styling: B (I've been hiding my hair using 1/2 wigs during the day and loose at night. This is the only way I've been able to not use heat on it. I've been fighting the urge to straighten with heat since I haven't used heat since 7/05)

Length: B (The front is now almost chin length, the sides are shoulder length and the back/nape is 2 or 3 inches past shoulder. This is good progress for me since I am almost 100% natural  )

Cute thread!

Deep Conditoning: A++
I do this 2x/wk for 30+ min w/o fail

PJ-ism: A-
I slipped this month for the first time in 2 months, but I've been using my stuff up like crazy!

Daily Maintenance: A-
I've been just leaving it alone in a loose bun after moisture/sealing every other day, but it took me awhile to figure out what style could work for me. My job is stressful, so buns, although quite boring, are no-fuss.

Rollersets: B-
Getting better at technique and appearance. Found a solution to the roots when stretching--Flat iron, not blow dryer. Saves grief and unneccessary damage.

Night routine/scarf: C
I use my scarf or pillowcase, but sometimes I forget, or I fall asleep on the couch and hate myself in the morning w/dry hair:(...Also have yet to find a nighttime hairstyle that I can deal w/ (wrapping is a no-no for my hair)

Stretching relaxers: B-
I'm learning how to do this, but it's been hard; DCs are helping

Overall: A-
People are noticing my progress and complimenting me on such a quick turnaround my hair has taken. Gives me hope that I really can do this on my own :D But I know I just need to be consistent and not lose focus...And not buy new products :lachen:

I'd give my hair a B and my behavior a D. The entire month of March, I didn't wash, condition, protective style, or do a damn thing to my hair. I slept with my head uncovered on a cotton pillowcase every night and kept it in a puff darn near everyday. Lazy doesn't even begin to describe it.
But I got my act together the beginning of this month. I washed, deep conditioned (with protein and moisture) and have been twisted up almost all month, except for two days of twistouts. From what I can see, my hair managed to survive the month long neglect without any serious split ends or breakage, plus it's been growing nicely. I've been dusting and plan to do a trim in about a week or so. I also started baggying my entire head several nights a week to retain moisture. Hopefully next quarter I can pull my grade up a bit with some TLC.
