She answered a question about Sprangz: "Yes, I do like the SprAngz product. I use them at the salon. I do recommend them to help stretch the hair. I just make sure that I fully detangle the hair during the conditioning process, then I put them on and pre-dry under the hooded dryer. After that, the hair is almost a breeze to blow-dry or twist back up."

I use the WEN 613. The stuff is awesome, it cleanses and conditions. Its my staple.

I love, love, love the video but the hair type chart is confusing to me too. What they consider 3c looks a lot like my 4a hair.

That chart went around a few years ago and confused the heck out of everyone here. Consensus was that it was a nice chart but different from the one on NC.com and what we typically use on hair boards.

If people are using that chart (as opposed to the one we typically refer to around here), they should indicate. Otherwise, I'm a 2 now

I would say 3b, and i will say im a self proclaimed product junkie, i have tried 100's of shampoos and conditioners and after so many trials and errors Wen 613 is one of my top picks. The stuff isnt cheap but the bottle does last me 3 months and i wash weekly and condition with it.

Also when i take a break from using heat for the summer i use it as a leave in, cause it makes nice waves and curls.

1. I'm not a twist out kind of person , and my hair is to my crack, so a wash and go is a big no for me.

2. In 2012, I only had my hair flat ironed a few times. Why? Because I love my natural hair. It's a lot of fun.

3. Heat hasn't affected my natural hair in terms of frizz.

4. I wear my hair out when it's flat ironed (which is not very often).

5. I have thick hair.

I have been trying to get a hair appointment from 2009 thru 2012. I just gave up recently. One thing that I can say is the hair chart is on point!

I would love to book an appointment with Reniece, but it seems really hard. Is there anyone else in the MD, DC or VA area that is on her level as far as healthy hair care ?

I would love to get a good press and proper trim.

I have been going to Reniece on and off for about 8 years. I recently got a weave installed by one of her junior stylists because she was unavailable on the one day I was able to sneak away from my job.
They have been trained by Reniece and offer the same technique and healthy hair care practices. My hair came out flawless! She treated my hair like a fine piece of silk just like Reniece, taking her time to detangle it while shampooing and blowdrying it. I have received numerous compliments on my hair.

so i've decided it. this thread and Allandra's thread has convinced me. i'm going to start wearing wigs at the end of May and through the summer while i study. i go home tomorrow (thank GOD) and will be there for a week. i'm going to visit a bunch of wigs shops to pick out two wigs. i'm scared but it would be great to totally hide my hair.

reniece needs to open a beauty school and train future black hair care stylist there would be a real revolution in black hair care with her skills and experience. My dream is to see healthy hair among black women being the norm instead of the exception.
