Interesting. Never heard of them.

She answered a question about Sprangz: "Yes, I do like the SprAngz product. I use them at the salon. I do recommend them to help stretch the hair. I just make sure that I fully detangle the hair during the conditioning process, then I put them on and pre-dry under the hooded dryer. After that, the hair is almost a breeze to blow-dry or twist back up."

I love, love, love the video but the hair type chart is confusing to me too. What they consider 3c looks a lot like my 4a hair.

Sent from my ADR6350 using LHCF

That chart went around a few years ago and confused the heck out of everyone here. Consensus was that it was a nice chart but different from the one on NC.com and what we typically use on hair boards.

If people are using that chart (as opposed to the one we typically refer to around here), they should indicate. Otherwise, I'm a 2 now :lachen::lachen:

Thank you for responding. What's your hair type? I'm trying to figure out if I will have the same results.

I would say 3b, and i will say im a self proclaimed product junkie, i have tried 100's of shampoos and conditioners and after so many trials and errors Wen 613 is one of my top picks. The stuff isnt cheap but the bottle does last me 3 months and i wash weekly and condition with it.

Also when i take a break from using heat for the summer i use it as a leave in, cause it makes nice waves and curls.

$200 :shocked: Ok, Let me just curl up with my nappy hair and slap this crooked wig on, cause it was only a dream.

:lachen::lachen::lachen:Why it gotta be crooked though? That flashed me back to the time years ago I had on a wig and my sister called me out saying it was crooked..:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Yea, $200 is pretty steep, but darnit worth it if you got the money.

Best hair video ever! It's so inspiring. Wish I still lived in the DMV. Sending blessings and continued success to Reniece and co.

1. I'm not a twist out kind of person , and my hair is to my crack, so a wash and go is a big no for me.

2. In 2012, I only had my hair flat ironed a few times. Why? Because I love my natural hair. It's a lot of fun.

3. Heat hasn't affected my natural hair in terms of frizz.

4. I wear my hair out when it's flat ironed (which is not very often).

5. I have thick hair.

Thanks for the compliment.

@Allandra

How often do you wear stlyes such as twist outs or W&Gs?
How often do you flat iron?
Has the heat affected your natural hair in terms of frizz?
Do you wear your hair out often out?
Are your hair strands fine medium of thick?

Hope you don't mind answering all the above questions.

Your hair is gorgeous in the pictures.:grin:

@sharifeh

Dear her website is reniece.com HTH.

@Allandra

that's what i thought
i asked because when I googled her i could only find information about weave so i got confused. It said she was a weave specialist and it gave prices for weave related services only. Maybe she has more than one website?

I hope I answered everyone that tagged me. If not, please just kindly tap me on the shoulder. My schedule has been pretty busy lately, but I'm still around. :yep:

Wow. I guess I shouldn't even bother calling. :ohwell:

I live in the DMV and have been trying to become a client of hers for over a yr.. gave up.. :O(

I have been trying to get a hair appointment from 2009 thru 2012. I just gave up recently. One thing that I can say is the hair chart is on point!

I would love to book an appointment with Reniece, but it seems really hard. Is there anyone else in the MD, DC or VA area that is on her level as far as healthy hair care ?

I would love to get a good press and proper trim.

I have been going to Reniece on and off for about 8 years. I recently got a weave installed by one of her junior stylists because she was unavailable on the one day I was able to sneak away from my job.
They have been trained by Reniece and offer the same technique and healthy hair care practices. My hair came out flawless! She treated my hair like a fine piece of silk just like Reniece, taking her time to detangle it while shampooing and blowdrying it. I have received numerous compliments on my hair.
They are currently accepting appointments-http://www.reniece.com/appointments.html As a client of Reniece’s for several years I highly recommend her junior stylists. Her sister Breon can hook you up as well :yep:

LaBelleLL

I've never worn a wig or a weave, but I do love protecting my hair through protective styling of my own hair. Please keep us posted on your progress.

so i've decided it. this thread and Allandra's thread has convinced me. i'm going to start wearing wigs at the end of May and through the summer while i study. i go home tomorrow (thank GOD) and will be there for a week. i'm going to visit a bunch of wigs shops to pick out two wigs. i'm scared but it would be great to totally hide my hair.

Can anyone recommend anyone in NYC who is affiliated to her or does hair like her?

I have asked the same question several times in the past. Reniece indicated on YouTube in the comments field that she is training someone in the NY area and hopes to be able to refer someone in NY soon.

I love Reniece and is very thankful to have had her a stylist for almost 10years.

I believe she is about to open her books soon. If you need more details sign up for her mailing list on her website. She will email when she is taking new clients.

And yes there is a part two of that video coming...

She doesn't only do weaves.

I think Allandra has answered most of the questions. Allandra, I see your beautiful hair! It is crazy that I may not know what you look like in person but I know what your hair looks like. I may have ran into you at her salon and not know...LOL.

Love this video. My stylist, Tamika, showed me this video while I had my hair done at her salon. Very inspiring. Tamika has been trained by Reniece and is located in GA.

reniece needs to open a beauty school and train future black hair care stylist there would be a real revolution in black hair care with her skills and experience. My dream is to see healthy hair among black women being the norm instead of the exception.
