Allandra

that's what i thought
i asked because when I googled her i could only find information about weave so i got confused. It said she was a weave specialist and it gave prices for weave related services only. Maybe she has more than one website?

I didnt want the video to end!!! I subscribed and will look at it when I dont feel like keeping up the routine for inpiration!!!
Thanks for sharing!!

Can anyone recommend anyone in NYC who is affiliated to her or does hair like her?

OK? I haven't found anyone except for 1 person and now its about $200 for her to do my hair. Juanita at Dominican Essence fell off badly so I stopped going to her.

Thank you for this.

My freind is 4a/b and her stylist told her she has to have a perm. Hard to believe there are still people peddling that stuff. :nono:

I loved the video.

Gonna watch it 5 more times lol:look:
According to her chart I'm 3a/3b with some 3c. I always thought i was 3c/4a. Idk its still confusing to me.

I love, love, love the video but the hair type chart is confusing to me too. What they consider 3c looks a lot like my 4a hair.

I'm flat ironing my hair for the 1st time since natural tomorrow. lol... trying to perfect my techniques.

I've had the hardest time getting in with Reniece or Breon for healthy hair services only. I don't want to be a weave client. They were taking appts for the junior stylists but only for those that wanted to be long term weave clients. I've been waiting patiently for their books to open for non-weave clients forever.

Who is it btw? I usually do my hair myself and can get those results. Sometimes I just want someone else to handle my hair and I havent found anyone in the city yet.

I would love to book an appointment with Reniece, but it seems really hard. Is there anyone else in the MD, DC or VA area that is on her level as far as healthy hair care ?

I would love to get a good press and proper trim.

In Baltimore I know a few hairstylist. These are people I go to whenever I'm home.

Marquis at Style Lab. Instagram name is only1marq.
Kal at Salontra Select. Instagram name is Kalixto.

Both show their work online and are advocates of natural healthy hair.

I need someone like them in NYC.

Thank you. I just called and spoke to Marquis. Waiting to hear back from him to see if he can fit me in on Wednesday. I love his photos.

I just watched this on Ms Kibibi's channel (can't see you tub at work) and my mouth just dropped. I missed this over the weekend and I just could not wait to get home to pull up you tube. I have clicked on it several times already, I doubt that I will be doing anymore work today. All I can say is Reneice is God sent when it comes to hair care!!!

I love this video. I can't wait to straighten my natural hair for the first time for my 2 year big chop anniversary in July.

So i watched this video like 3 times today:look:

I am going to spend the rest of the year to get my straightening results like that!:detective:

So s her whole system based on weave?

Can I have a link to the books mentioned?

All the information shared on this forum has proven that hair growth is not the reason why so many AA women don't have long hair :nono: it's retention. Weaving, a form of protective styling, helps you retain your growth.

I hope they also focus on non-weave protective styling as well. Not everyone likes wigs/weaves.

Enyo i was wondering the same. I think it's because the main protective style she utilizes to grow her clients' hair is weave.

Also, the real money is in doing the weave.

I like how she gave tips in the video.

$200  Ok, Let me just curl up with my nappy hair and slap this crooked wig on, cause it was only a dream.

Exactly. I think I saw on the video that she differentiated between her protective styling clients (weave regimen) and her clients who used a "home" based system. The latter was Alandra, Mwedzi and maybe a couple others. I guess that meant they do their own thing.

I like weaves and wigs though so...

I am mostly 4b w/ patches of 4a and 4c. Client E (the girl w/ the 4b/c hair) had one the longest thickest hair in vid! I'm encouraged to continue on my HHJ. There is a light at the end of the tunnel....
