Girl...you know that's a WEAVE!

CHECKMATE!

New Member
...I take this as a compliment:look:,do you? Here is the comment that was left on my youtube channel:

"girl you know thats a weave ive looked at all ur vids cause i wanted to try the product but your hair stays the same do some vids parting it and all that make me a believer im not convinced keep it real with your customers. and in certain parts of the vids i can see your real hair sticking out."

At first, I was livid:wallbash:,since I put in a lot of "work" to grow my hair. It is not even MBL yet and the rude comments are starting to pop up. But I looked at the bigger picture and thought "wow, if she thinks that my hair is a weave, then I must be doing something right!" :yep: Have any of you had these comments (whether IRL or online) about your hair? If so,what were your thoughts afterwards? Did you get upset/angry or took it as a compliment?

Man black women just can't have long hair without wearing a weave huh? All other races can have long hair and no one bats an eyelash. The minute a sister gets up with long hair, she has to prove it!

BS!

Your hair really has grown Patience, nice work!

But no, I dont think I've been weave checked in a hot minute.

I wonder what parts of your real hair she's talking about?

Just take that as a compliment. Don't let the ignorance burn you.

I actually can't wait for those kind of comments personally! :D

And why is the chick that said that wearing a weave in her background pic???? SMDH! and her screen name has the words "kinky" in it? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

DISCLAIMER: I am aware that naturals wear weaves from time to time. Carry on....

Thanks:yep:...she must be speaking of the front, which broke off a bit (a couple of months ago) from rough "handlements" from a dominican stylist while rollersetting. In my update vid,you see me kinda' push it back.:yep:

:lachen::lachen::lachen:I sooooo did not want to go there lol...but we share the same sentiment:look:

So true! :yep: A large percentage of other races, especially those in hollywood, wear weaves; however,no one questions their authenticity:nono:

I'm a 4b natural with a TWA...if I ever get told my fro is a weave I'm going outside, jump up and down and yell "I know my hair looks good!!" :lachen:
Patience, you know your hair looks good!!:grin:
If people want to post hate about your hard work and progress, that's their issue, not your issue. They are the ones who need to adjust...not you!
Yep! Take it as a compliment!!

Lol....I checked out her youtube channel, and Lol is the only words that can come to my mind....Lol....

Anyways Patience you have beautiful hair and when the comment start to come is when you're doing something good, she probably already bought your oil in hopes that her hair will look like yours magically but needs some reassurance. bwahahahahahahaha!

when i where my hair out most (black) ppl think its a weave and when i tell them no they try and argue w/ me asking me where i got my hair from

i would just take it as a compliment and keep rollin'

Wow, they actually try and argue with you! That ish is funny! The audacity of some people hold no bounds! :lachen:

People are just jealous/envious and can't accept
that it is YOUR hair in, IMO.
I guess YOU'RE doing something right
to make people question your hair.
Keep on doing it!
:look:

um haters hate! girl, dust your shoulders off! goodness, why are folks so quick to call someone out cuz they can't get their mane to grOW. hm, it looks like i may just buy a bottle. i have some breakage that needs some help.

So Patience, are you going to do a "response" video where you put all sorts of acrobatic parts in your hair so they can see your scalp/roots? :lachen: :lachen:

I don't live in an area where I'd get those kind of comments, but I know that women in general can be a bit cruel to one another for no real reason. Mix black women and the hair topic, and the tiger really comes out. I wonder if she would have said the same thing to your face as opposed to on YouTube. Your hair looks gorgeous! I won't be upset; remember jealousy is the greatest form of flattery.

"Hi hater :hiya:, Bye hater". That's all it is: Good Old Fashioned Haterade. It's good you have a positive outlook on it, though. She probably broke the vessels in her eyes trying to find evidence of tracks :lachen:.

You are right to take it as a compliment. What she said is a natural thought of most black women, but she was rude and went about it the wrong way. If she wanted proof, she could have kindly asked you to do some parts in your next video.

I know when I see a woman with pretty BSL or longer, I wonder if its a weave but I don't go off being rude about it

:lachen::lachen:not at all!

ETA: Well, I may create a braidout video or something to alleviate these comments :look:,because they are getting annoying now :(

Indeed:yep:

I try to:yep:...but that was funny lol I guess I don't invest that much time/energy trying to "prove" people wrong, just don't have the interest:nono:

My point exactly :yep:

You doing your thing don't let them people get to you. I bet you right after she left that she went and ordered her some oil too. Heck now i want some:lachen:.

I would definitely take the "is-it-a-weave" questions as a compliment, but for her to act like you are trying to "bamboozle" people, or her trying to "put you out on blast", is the part that I wouldn't take as a compliment. and you had a right to get a little frustrated.

BTW, I agree with soulie.. :giggle:

Poor lady, she think we can't grow long hair. Keep doing what you doing. Its getting attention and you letting us know that it is possible. Don't worry bout the haters, they mastered the art of hating. Can't change them. You did the right thing, changing how you interpret the comment. You will always stay on top with that attitude!

ITA with the above bolded:yep:

I've always gotten that response to my hair, even before lhcf. People always think it's a weave. There were times when I had to part my hair with my fingers, so they can see, just so they'll leave me alone. Only a few have gotten that priviledge though.

You have to count it as something good. Don't be mad at the haters girl! Your hair looks so good that they just can't believe it's true! LOL
