Girl...you know that's a WEAVE!

Girl it's a compliment.

I can't wait until people start asking if I'm wearing a weave.

The only time someone thought I wore a weave is when my hair grew a lot.

I can understand why she said that. There are so many people and companies out there selling products that claim to make your hair "thicker, longer, stronger" but the person selling it is wearing a weave or a lacefront, or their models are (just look at a relaxer box or in black hair magazine and you'll see what I mean). As a potential customer, many people are just skeptical about things because it seems like everybody's lying.

She was saying what other people have probably been thinking. Maybe you should think about making a video to prove that it's your hair. It can't hurt. And those people who were too shy to ask or doubting you may end up being your new customers.

Been there, done that. On LHCF and off. :lachen:And that's without hair that's even SL at the moment! Long or short you'll hear that if you have healthy hair. Curly or straight -doesn't matter.

Take it as a compliment and keep rolling. You look lovely!:yep:

OP, I luv ur hair!!!!

I have a feeling people are going to be doing a lot of weave checks in the future. It seems like more black women are getting into healthy hair care.....not just online, IRL as well.

I can understand that as well but she made an accusation stating that it isn't her real hair and that's false. Thus possibly causing damage to anyone that was thinking about buying her product not to.

I could understand more if she asked for more pictures or proof but she didn't. She claims she saw fake hair and that the OP was lying.

This is true! lol funny how I always thought the same thing. have some "real" representatives to represent the product, why don't cha':ohwell:...But I guess I need to mention, like the man in the hair commercial use to say: "I am not only the hair club president I am also a client".:look:

To add: I guess I would have used more discretion, in my approach, if I wanted to address someone regarding my skepticism, than to attempt to make them look fraudulent:yep:

Indeed:yep:

I try to:yep:...but that was funny lol I guess I don't invest that much time/energy trying to "prove" people wrong, just don't have the interest:nono:

Trust me. You could type back and forth with that girl (and yes I said girl because she's being VERY immature) until the tips of your fingers go numb, she's still not going to believe you. She's stubborn and bitter because her hair won't grow, so she ASSumes  that every woman that's the same race as her can't grow long either. As a matter of fact, you are doing her a favor. You can't be a successful hater without someone to hate on. You're giving her something to occupy her time :yep:.

I agree with both of you, the way you say something is just as important as what you say.

I just, I don't know. I'm looking at it from the perspective of a black woman who's had short hair her whole life, has fallen for every gimmick in the book, and is fed up with people taking advantage of my desire for long hair by perpetrating with weaves and lacefronts "proving" that their products really works.

There have been people on BHM and LHCF who blatantly lied about their hair progress. And almost every company out there advertising hair products uses models with weaves who don't actually use the products. I can see where her attitude is coming from. Not saying that it's right, but I understand it.

As far as the bolded, how do you know that she's stubborn, bitter, her hair won't grow, and she's immature? Why does someone have to be a hater just because she's made a statement you may not agree with?

Frankly, when I found LHCF I wasn't stubborn and bitter, but I surely did not believe that black women could have long hair. It was an assumption based on my personal experience (I never knew anyone with longer than SL hair who wasn't mixed) and the reality that black women usually only have long hair if it's a weave.

She's not being a hater, she's probably going with what she knows. Yes, she may be ignorant but most of us were until we learned more about haircare, whether it was on our own or here. Cut the woman some slack y'all.

First of all, calling someone a LIAR that is telling you the hair that's growing out of her scalp is her hair is being a hater, and when you also go so far as to fabricate evidence of fake hair that is more evidence of being a hater. And the fact that she was in disbelief that a woman the same ethnicity as hers could grow that long leads me to believe that she's having trouble growing her hair. And she is being immature for nit-picking over such a trivial matter such as the hair that grows from another woman's head. I'm sympathizing and comforting the OP, who was insulted by this rude woman in a comical way. I'm not going to sugar coat my words for a woman that didn't bother to phrase her words delicately for the OP, who did nothing to her.

...I take this as a compliment:look:,do you? Here is the comment that was left on my youtube channel:

"girl you know thats a weave ive looked at all ur vids cause i wanted to try the product but your hair stays the same do some vids parting it and all that make me a believer im not convinced keep it real with your customers. and in certain parts of the vids i can see your real hair sticking out."

It is SUCH a compliment. Weave hair is usually perfect. One time I was in the salon getting my hair done and when he was finished this lady said to the stylist "that's a weave right"?, and he said, "no, that's hers"...then there was dead silence. I felt so good that my hair must've looked that good.

And the fact that she was in disbelief that a woman the same ethnicity as hers could grow that long leads me to believe that she's having trouble growing her hair. This woman doesn't know Patience from a can of paint so accusing her of lying about her hair isn't all that big of a deal really, she doesn't know if Patience is a trustworthy person especially because she's selling something. Most folks who sell things, especially in the hair growth/care arena, LIE shamelessly.

Second, she thought she saw tracks. So? They weren't there, which is great. But it's a video, lighting and everything else can make things seem to be there even if they aren't.

Third, while in general it may be a trivial matter in this instance it's not. Patience is selling a product and using her own hair as proof that the product works. As a potential customer it's important to feel that the person selling something is telling the truth so that you don't get taken. The woman felt like she saw something and voiced her opinion about it, even though she could have done it in a nicer way.

Everybody is not a hater. Jeez, get over yourselves. If I am watching a video by someone who is selling a hair growth oil and I think they have a weave, then that doesn't make me a hater even though I may be mistaken. It just means I don't want to waste my money on something that doesn't work. And yes, posting the comment may be the person's way of warning others. It could have been done more tastefully, but it's her right to have a different opinion.

Nobody is saying that everybody is a hater, I'm just saying that what she said was hateful. I already know that not everybody is going to have the same opinion as me or anyone else, but she did, like you said, phrase her words tastelessly and in a mean way, so that, IMO, makes her a hater. She has every right to believe what she wants to believe, but for her to go out of her way to make someone feel bad is wrong. She didn't bother taking it easy on the OP, so in my posts I didn't take it easy on her. She called it like she saw it, and so did I.

That's true. As a teen, I had SL-hair, but it was jet black and super thick & my stylist kept it trimmed even. I used to run track & I got weave comments at every meet, even though my hair wasn't long. Healthy hair in general tends to bring skepticism.

Plus, you know how folks on youtube are.....

when i where my hair out most (black) ppl think its a weave and when i tell them no they try and argue w/ me asking me where i got my hair from

i would just take it as a compliment and keep rollin'

Tell them from God. to the OP take it as your hair's so healthy it's unbeweavable, Wow some people just can't accept good things even when it's staring them in the face. Hey that chicks a hater, she can't grow her hair cause she doesn't know how or bothers to try, so she thinks no one else can either. I'd reply to her and give her links to Redhotlala's fotki, Irris fotki and youtube videos and let her talk then.

Ive been weave checked several times, mostly from family though LOL! But I'm going to get my hair done and dyed on the 1st, so I will report how many weave checks I get then...since my hair has been in its natural state since Decemeber mini micros

I agree with this wholeheartedly! I won't cut her any slack either.:yep:

WOW She is still posting negative comments lol...just posted 4mins ago:

"not convinced i need her to convince me im a stylist on my page the pic in the background is a sew in i did it and it looks really real.and your right real hair sticks out but so many inches shorter from the root.come on oh well not my problem.i wanna see her actually doing her hair point blank if not this is so a fraud."

As was said, there is a way to say things. This is not the way to go about it. You don't have to prove anything to her, but there are other people who think your hair is a weave as well so it may be worth it.

If you don't like her comments, you should block her.

LOL, that woman is real serious about this :drunk:

Checkmate, I agree with msa that you should do a video to prove you have real hair - simply because you're selling products and you want to make the customers feel as comfortable as possible with buying from you. Forget that lady, don't even respond to her.. yea she's annoying, but just think about the big picture.

(SMS shakes her head in disgust)

Truly everyone has a right to their opinion but it seems like she is really going out of her way. She keeps saying your hair is sticking out...I'm still trying to figure out what she is talking about. I don't know.

And she states that her sew in looks real? What is she sippin' on? Cause I need a case!

I think I know where....check out 0:36 into the video...there is a part that sticks out in the back that appears shorter. I think that is what she saw.

Patience...just a suggestion, you should show the back of your hair in some of your vids. When you did your recent one of your stretch, I was looking for a back shot (only to see that gorgeous head of hair you have)

Forgive me, I'm bored...

Wow, they actually try and argue with you! That ish is funny! The audacity of some people hold no bounds! :lachen:

The same applies to relatives. My older aunt swore up and down to my younger aunt that I was wearing extensions. My younger aunt said: "That's her real hair." My older aunt said: That's not her hair!" My younger aunt said: "That is her d*@% hair!!!!"

That's just one experience. I don't debate with anyone.

Taking into account that you are selling something, it is worth it for those with far more tact, but just as much skepticism to do a video addressing it.

We all have to do our hater vid or post at some point, sadly, even if you're NOT selling anything. It's just the nature of the beast (net/Youtube).

I WOULD block her, however and remove all of her comments but the first if possible the SAME DAY I post my rebuff vid. I would also NOT mention her as it is NOT about her, but about proving what you know is the truth to those with far more tact and "good 'ol home training" to not express their disbelief so childishly. Which people do often under the guise of "calling it like it is", as a sort of disclaimer for rude behavior (everyone has a right to their opinon, yes, but it is HOW you say things that matters as much as what you say).

I hope this goes well for you and wish you the best in handling the matter.:yep:

Ok, so you're a "hater" if you question whether someone is telling the truth or not about their hair?

If I asked Patience straight up, is you hair real? That makes me a hater? I guess there are a lot of haters around here then.

Girl, just do a video, then there will be no reason for folks to "hate". If they don't believe you after that, then that's on them.

rudeness. but surely a compliment. she likes your hair which is why she is interested in buying the product that you use & sell.

no its not hate to pose a question but "girl you know that's a weave" is not a question. "this is so fraud [unless you do what i would like you to do in order to satisfy my curiosity]" is also not a question.

asking "is your hair real" does not make you a hater but lets be real, she didn't ask that at all. she didn't ask anything. she made accusations of wearing weave and fraudulent claims.

i don't believe it is the skepticism that amounts to hate but the rude behind approach.

[]=obviously not a direct quote lol

Just finished one...I look crazy with my hair all over the place lol...but I need to quiet this debate:lachen:I really appreciate the insight from all of you. It is super long,8+ mins:look: but it should do:yep: I will post the link once it is finish loading:drunk:

ETA: today is my wash day,so I guess tomorrow I can post a tutorial of me flat ironing with my beloved Sedu :spinning:
