Get a life it's just hair.

That's what my sister said to me. Well she didn't tell me to get a life. lol

My sister asked me am I still obsessed with hair. I told her no it has finally died down. Now I'm obsess about money. She said it's about time it's only hair. I told her ( In my Bette Write voice)anything worth having at all is worth working for and waiting for. Then we both burst out laughing. Some of ya''ll know why.

I fell that it's more then just hair it's a goal of mines to have MBL hair. I can start off with a inch of hair and get to MBL, I have started a mission that I saw all the way through. That's what my sister don't understand. It's like my reward for all the work I put in to my hair.

You know we LHCF girls understand you, but somedays I feel like its just hair too.

Who am I kidding?! Its NEVER just hair!

This is why i don't tell anyone about my goals hair or other wise. i don't need the discouragement. Im not saying thats what your sister is doing though.

But i can see where your sister is coming from also. I've gotten to the point where I am tired of obsessing about my hair growing. I'm actually thinking abotu taking a break from the hair forum because it was starting to get frustrating.

I think that caring for one's hair has to be kept in a healthy and appropriate perspective with other matters in one's life. Like all things, there needs to be a balance. Obsessing about anything, hair included, isn't healthy.

My SIL tried to tell me the same stuff.... and I almost hauled off and said to her "YOU need to be more obsessed with yours cause it seems like it falls out ever two months!"

But I was a goo girl and didnt.

This is why I keep my journey to myself. When I first started I wanted to tell everyone but I see many women I know have the "it's just hair" attitude so I say nothing now. But I am no longer obssessed either but I do enjoy taking care of my hair. To others I may be obssessed but not to me. I don't let it alter my life so I'm cool.

My husband, a stylist with waist-length hair, had the audacity to say I'm obsessed with my hair. That may be true, but of all the people?!?!?!? I was through. Who better to talk to about hair goals being met? He still fully supports me, but now he wants to play in it. :nono:

He didn't call me obsessed when I went on a quest to add new recipes to our meal repetoire.

Sometimes they take you there! LOL.

But everybody has their thing. My father is obsessed with fitness. My mother is obsessed with sewing. Me it's hair and fashion. I'm using obsessed in a much lighter tone though but who am I to knock anyone's obsession when I have my own? Ya dig?

But I too do not share my hair goals with others except my aunt who is a hair lover and my cousin that I got to join the site. My father tells me I can't grow long hair and most girls, like my younger sister say it's "just hair" (but the ones that say it usually have damaged hair!). So I just don't say a word, wear my protective styles, and watch my hair grow!

My family says the same thing to me because I tried to tell them about LHCF. Yesterday when I was at my mom's house she asked me what I was doing to my hair and that my hair was so shiny and thick that I looked like I was wearing a wig.

:lachen:Girl aint that the troof?

My husband is so silly. Last night he calls himself getting exasperated with me because I asked him to massage my scalp for me! He says to me... "Why do you do that every night??? Cant it wait till the morning?"

I said, "why you gotta eat dinner every night? Cant yo just wait till breakfast in the morning??"

He rolled over and didnt say anything.

LOL.

My sister doesn't understand either girl!:lachen: She's one of those types who wants to look good without putting in the time or the effort.:nono:

Whenever I mention anything hair related now, my mother sighs, rolls her eyes and gives me this "here we go" look, so I have stopped telling her things. Yesterday, I put some Lacio Lacio in her hair, and she wants "some of that stuff.":ohwell: So I have just started keeping stuff with myself , especially since she thinks keeping a hair journal is obsession.

Yeah and this is the same ***** who will say to me, "Your hair is so pretty!" and "What do you do to it?"

But then dont want to put in the work to get it.

Yeah mines like that too.... She will pop her eyes out of her head trying to look at somebody's hair.... but if they try to give her any advice on her hair... she will retort "OH I KNOW! I went to hair school!"

(she did.... but for like 2 weeks and dropped out)

She hates the fact that my hair is growing out so bad.

I keep my opinions to myself now, NO one really wants to know they ask you all kinds of question but when you supply the answers they back off. they rather take a pill and have it all fall into place then actually do something. Kind of like losing weight and i have since learned my lesson. Its takes work and patiences and I can see the progress so its all worth it in the end.

My sister didn't come at me in a bad way about it. MY family knows about LHCF. They don't say anything because some of them are own myspace and I ask them what is the difference between myspace and LHCF. My family is cool with it now. I think she likes that I was a lil obsessed with my hair because it means that I'm paying attention to my appearance.
That's all my sister cares about. lol

That's funny! My sister doesn't know anything...she just acts like she does!

My sisters were both like that. Now they always look over my shoulder when I am checking this site out. They even asked for me to leave my login info in there computer so they can get on an look around. Its funny how opinions change when you are doing better then them.

What else is there, if you're bald, you'd hear about it but when you try to come correct, you're obsessed. Well, I'm glad I have this forum to help me feed my obsession.

That is so true. If I got 3 strands of hair on my head every body and their mama would have something to say about it.

OK!! It's always pure comedy when your doubters have to eat their words.
