For those who wanted to know if her hair really grew that fast

I think the word I really should have used was fitting, because if I were in her shoes, my first thought/sentiment would definitely be like whatever, funk dem, if I knew I wasn't perpetrating. I can't really speak on appropriate, because I am not in her head.

Your sorority sister sounds like she's got normal hair growth. In nine months, it's not unusual to have 4.5 hair growth, which is close to what you describe.

Oh no, I didn't think you were referring to me. Reading your post I was thinking that the word fitting was a better choice for what I was trying to say. That's why I quoted ya:grin:. She might feel like others "went hard" on her,so maybe she chose a track that sort of "goes hard" in her response. But she did say at the end that the song was not meant to be taken personal.

Ditto that. Now if you said August 07 - Dec. 07, that wld be impressive!

This whole situation (w/ the youtube poser) is hilarious though. Good for her if she did get that much growth so quickly. I just watched the first video...I buy it. From jan to now at her length is wld take what - an inch per month? Not 2-3/mo. and isnt doubling the growth rate what everyone hopes growth aides will do for them anyway? :perplexed

I believe it. I've had people accuse me of having a weave after BC my hair in the summer and having it down my back by Christmas and I use to do it every few years. In the first pic her hair is kind of scrunched upward so maybe it was actually a little longer and would have looked longer if it had been styled. Either way it is very possible and not as uncommon you think to grow hair that fast. My brother cuts his hair bald and by the morning has a very visible hair. I don't know if its real or not but if it is I have no problem believing. alot of groth has to do with diet and care but all in all I think its mostly in the genes just like some of us have a gene for thick, thin eybrows, long, short lashes etc. some of us have genes that tell our hair to grow at a faster than "average" rate. I just posted about my daughters hair taking so long to start growing and it started sprouting overnight so I def beleive it. And if its not true thats on her.

When I fist came in I thought she had cut her hair really short then had waistlength or something...it just looks like average hair growth to me.

Right . . . just grow your hair and the end result will speak for itself. Who cares who believes you. As long as you're happy with your hair that's all that matters.

I dont see how it clarifies anything either, as the first video made more sense, as far as a timeline. Regardless, she doesnt have to prove anything to anyone. Folx not believing her doesnt stop her hair growth and her hair is beautiful.

Exactly. I wouldn't give a darn if nobody believed me. The proof is in my pics and while folks are still doubting, I would just keep my hair swanging. Some people give other folks too much power, time, energy and attention. Q
 
Its believable. My nape is an inch unstretched and flatirons out to 3 inches. That means it shrinks to a third of its size, which would mean that even if I had 9 inches of hair in my nape, it would only be like 3 inches wet.

So I could understand if that 2 inches of unstretched hair was really like 4 inches or even up to 6 inches. Could be, I don't doubt it. Kind of embarrassing for all those girls talking mess in the other thread though:rolleyes:
 
I'm confused...y'all had me thinking she went from big chop to WL, but after seeing that video, I don't see the big deal...in fact, it's actually nothing to write home about.

Her hair looks good and her progress is just that, progress.

 
i keep avoiding this issue because i cant watch the videos, but what length her hair is now? i understand she had a bc/twa which may or may not have been NL or so when stretched, but what is she now, after how long?

I agree. Some did go hard on her in that first thread. Someone even said something about her wieght which was totally uncalled for. I think the song was appropriate considering what was said about her. I'd be mad too.
 
I think she's pretty and I love her hair. My niece's hair is the same way. She's bi-racial and her hair grows hella fast and she has crazy shrinkage. I was amazed to see a drawn up puff stretch out to beautiful healthy and really thick BSL swanginess. I think it's feasible.

I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about. :look:
