I already searched for a thread on this, and although I did come up with some threads that talked about rinses, I wanted a more official count on what clear rinses you all prefer. :)

Also, what has your experience been with them and where can your favorite be purchased? And if you have an album that shows your results, could you please list the link to your album here? TIA! :D

I have only tried Adore, Sebastian Colourshine and Clairol beautiful Collection and out of the three I love the Clairol beautiful collection the best. Adore second and I don't even want to remember my experience about Sebastian Colourshine:mad::mad:. I had a horrible experience with it. It made my hair dry, tangled mess and it made my hair turn jet black. Oh boy don't even get me started:mad::mad::mad:. I think I need to calm down:look:. I am not sure if the clear rinse will be any better because I had used liquid amber. I only took pics of my hair with the Adore rinse in it but unfortunately I didn't put them in my album. Sorry

Clear rinses give hair more shine and sleekness???
Supposedly! And if you have other color in there it is supposed to brighten up that color, make it look fresher and shinier.

I also read on here that clear rinses can protect the hair strand. I really want to use one soon. I bought the Jazzing today but read mixed reviews about it on here.

Thanks for the reply, Csweetie! I want to try one too!

My coworker does clear rinses. I heard her call for an appointment a couple of times. The first time I was thinking What's a clear rinse? I looked it up online while she sat nearby making her appointment.
That's why her hair is so shiny! She's a natural 4a/b that wears her hair flatironed 99.9% of the time. She wears it down less nowadays. I wonder if she's purposely doing that or just being lazy. :scratchch Lol. Her hair looks as though she's had a fresh relaxer most days. So shiny and it moves.

One day after she might have gotten it done at a shop it wasn't as shiny and I noticed. Could that have been because she hadn't kept up with her clear rinses?

How do they work? I'm assuming you can't get it the same day you're getting a relaxer.

Bumping for response bolded.

You can get a clear rinse on the same day you relax. I have been getting clear rinses for several years now. I do believe they help to seal the cuticle, enhance shine, and help to minimize frizz. My favorite is Matrix Prisms. I also like Sebastians Colourshines in clear. I have tried Jazzing in past and did not like the results.

Thanks for repsonding. What about the results didn't you like?

I like the Sebastians Colourshines in Clear. I can't really vote, since I've only tried this one kind. It made my hair very shiny and sealed the cuticle. I could tell the difference immediately after I washed my hair. After applying the rinse and having my hair blown out, I didn't have those hideous looking flyaways that always seem to appear. My strands felt smooth and had a nice gloss for the first 3 washes. That's about as long as it lasted though. I've been doing them once at the end of every month.

I really, really want to try the Sebastians!! I found them on e-bay from $22-23.50. Jazzing is only $4.99 at Sally's!

Nikki, where can you buy Matrix Prisms? And how long do the results last/how often do you need to rinse again?

I've been wanting to try a clear rinse besides my usual black/jet black. Good thread. Looking forward to more responses on this.

I have been wondering this myself. I have yet to find an online vendor that sells this product (Matrix Prisms) or a store in my area that carries it, my stylist applies this rinse to my hair every time I get a relaxer, which is aywhere from 8-12 weeks, the rinse cost me an extra $20. I am probably going to get the Sebastians to do at home in between visits. The results of the Matrix rinse seem to last me about 4 weeks, depending on how often I shampoo each week. I like the Sebasatian rinse also, but the results don't seem to last as long as with the Matrix rinse. If I find a vendor that sells the Matrix I will update my post. You are definitely better off in the longrun moneywise buying your own rinse and applying it yourself. One bottle of the Colorshines would probably last me the whole year, which I can find for about $25.00.

Really?? Oh, okay well then that's not too bad! I was thinking you use the whole bottle on the hair at one time.

Me too! That must be a pretty big bottle!

I thought the same thing, thanx for starting the thread Cincysweetie. I've been looking 4 more shine but have been skeptical. I wonder if it could cause any damage over a period of time?, anyone know:confused: , if not Colorshines it will be.:look:

I have been getting rinses for several years now. I have had no damage. I also have known other ladies who have gotten rinses alot longer and have had no damage.

Okay, now I am confused! I messaged the e-bay seller of the matriz prisms to ask her if the product was a rinse (since the description calls it semi-permanent). I pasted her response below:

Clear gloss or rinse, its the same thing basically. I have heard my stylist refer to it as a clear gloss. If you have the chance to purchase this, try it, it is a good product and has worked well for me for the past several years.

Okay, thank you! I was just unclear to if they were the same thing or not.
