Geez time is FLYING by. I can't believe we are almost in August and it feels like 2010 just got off the ground....

Anyway, i will not be making the same mistakes that i made last winter and since that time is fast approaching, i think now is the best time to be thinking about this. My hair was dry as hell and the weather was killing it b/c it was colder than usual down here. So I have made a list of hair goals that I would like to achieve this fall/winter

  • Deep condition with my steamer twice a week
  • Protective style for at least 99% of the time
  • Straighten hair for Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Hid my hair under half wigs and sew-ins.
  • Henna once a month
Whats yours?

My hair goals are to:

1. Stop cutting
2. Stop cutting
3. Stop cutting
4. Do more protein/moisture DC's in the winter. (now that I have a steamer)
5. Keep my hair in low manipulation styles
6. Try to keep my hands out of my hair

1. Keep on transitioning w/out BC
2. Keep using ayervidia products
3. Stay away from heat except during special occasions
4. Stay positive! Go Natural!

Nice thread

My goals are:

1. Continue to DC 1-2 a week
2. Buy a steamer
3. Proctective styles 99% of the time alternating between half wigs and bunning
4. Stay on this stretch
5. Retain all my growth

This Fall/Winter: Some of the Ladies of the Use 1 Buy 1 agreed to purchase a Pre-Paid VISA for either $365.00 or $500.00 for our Annual Hair Purchases, so I plan to do this too.:look:

This is effective 01-01-11. So hopefully it will help curb my purchases. *crosses fingers* So, in addition:

1) Learn how to Self-Relax "better" *so I won't have to ask anyone to help me*
2) Retain
3) Continue to Wig-It until Mid or Late 2011
4) Keep Protein/Moisture in balance
5) Ends, Ends, Ends, Ends, Ends, Ends, Ends, Ends (did I say Ends??)
6) Have Fun with the Ladies of LHCF

Great Thread!

I know last winter was just awful:nono:....not just on the hair but period.

This fall/winter....i like the fall/winter seasons bc i can straighten my hair without worrying about it gettin all puffy on me.....

So:

-I hope to be Full Waist Length
-I'm going to put a rinse in my hair like i do every year around this time of the year
-Use heat no more than 2 times a month

But i'm gonna really enjoy my length this fall/winter season:yep:...i've waited SO long to get here and now i'm gonna enjoy it more.

Learn to braid, and well at that. I keep saying that I'm going to do it, and I never do. I love wearing cornrows (I look so good in them), and I'd like to learn to do it myself.

Finally invest in a hooded dryer on wheels
. A Pibbs perhaps? I really don't want to spend a ton of money, but I'm very tall. All the cheap ones I've seen don't go up to a satisfactory height.

Finally invest in a good pair of hair scissors. I've been using my mother's, and I would really like my own.

Protective style 100% of the time. The only time I want to wear my hair down is when I'm washing it.:yep:

Become the cheap natural I was born to be.:lachen:I mean it!!!! Beauty supply store/local only. I am so over ordering online. And then spending a lot of money on it. I can think of better ways to invest my money (emphasis on "my"; what others do ain't got nuttin' to do with me LOL).

That's it. At least for now anyway.:look:

Goals:
Learn how to braid and well.
Learn how to do at least 20 different cute protective styles.
I want the bottom layer of my hair to be at hl and the majority to be at wl.

I will probably do a mini chop at the end of the year (3-4"), so hopefully I meet my hair goals(or exceed them) If I do I also I hope I won't lose my nerve

I need some good youtube recommendations so i can learn how to braid better.

I want to be full shoulder length by my 23rd bday. ( in December)
and I want to have nice natural looking sew in's to help me achieve my length.
I have the health now I just want the length.

1. Hide my hair or PS until I BC
2. Continue to DC 1-2x wk with steam
3. Incorporate Ayurvedic practices into regimen
4. Be patient!

This fall and winter I plan on:

*deep conditioning weekly
*keeping protective styles in %99 of the time
*sealing ends after daily moisturizer
*CLAIMING BSL FINALLY!!!!@
*loving my hair and giving mu ends extra TLC
I will meet my goals

1. Deep condition at least twice per week
2. Protectively style 5-6 days/week
3. Moisturize and seal my ends daily
4. retain...Retain...RETAIN!
5. Dust and search & destroy regularly; trim when necessary
6. Make Full APL by December 2010

Good thread!

1- Deep condition under the dryer 1-2x a week.
2- Alternate between flat ironed & protective styles.
3- Make full SL by winter's end.
4- Drink way more water daily & eat better.

Retain length by protective styling
Continue dcing on dry hair
Fighting the urge to cut/trim my hair
Hopefully make to full apl (would have been there already if I wasn't so scissor happy)

This is damn near impossible for me in the winter

Continue to have 90% of my liquids be water.
Continue to wash, detangle and condition hair every two weeks.
Continue to wear protective styles 64% of the time, the other 36% is in a twistout.
No wash and goes.
Continue banding and stretching out hair.
Try to incorperate wig into regimen.
Dye hair again in September and December.

Make APL in the front, maintain APL in back, and trim to APL in December.

I think my regimen will remain the same as my current one, but I will most likely have to find a good winter moisturizer to replace my aloe vera glycerine spray.

1. Find new moisturizer
2. COntinue wigging it (for someone reason I tend to slack off in winter which is backwards)
3. Continue transitioning
4. Make APL
5. Not buy anything new and focus on my staple products and seeing what they can do for my hair

1. Continue with my transition (6 months in so far, no BC for me).
2. Continue with my protective styling
3. Deep condition 2 times a week
4. Purchase a sulfate free shampoo
5. Invest in a steamer and hooded dryer
6. Invest in a good pair of scissors
7. Learn to style my own hair (braids, roller set, ect).
8. Make it to collarbone length/retain length (CBL)

I got a lot to do :ohwell:

Loving the thread! :yep:

- Touchup my color
- SELF TRIM (gulp)
- DC Weekly
- Learn to cornbraid
- Continue my personal no-heat straightening challenge
- Experiment with new protective styles
- Grow to 3 inches past waist-length by end of year

Great thread!! I'll try to keep this short because fall/winter has always meant
MURDER for my hair!!! I mean, horrible, crazy, tear-jerking breakage!! And dry, dry, miserably dry, brittle, straw-like hair that even if you walked into the same room with it, it would break off!

Sorry, I just had a moment, hehe... :look:

Anyway, my hair plans/goals are as follows:

1. Moisturize, moisturize, MOISTURIZE!!! :darkcloud: I am not playin'! I cannot afford to get lazy with this and I WILL moisturize my hair every single day!!!

2. Co-wash no less than three times a week and DC at least once a week.

3. Get into some serious protective and low manipulation styles and learn to cornrow!

4. During the summer I haven't been using any oils but during the winter I will be sealing with Crisco. Yes Crisco! I read some really great stuff about it somewhere on this forum and want to try it.

5. Straighten my hair only when I hit my ten month mark, and then one more time at one year. But only if it's doing well and showing no signs of breakage.

6. Reach SL for the first time of my life by my one year BC anniversary!! I am DETERMINED!!! I will not :deadhorse: this winter! I WILL RETAIN MY LENGTH!! ALL OF IT!!!! :mwahahafire::Run:

Sorry if I went off the deep end a lil'! but this winter is really crucial to my HHJ because for the first time I actually know how to properly care for my hair and really want to see it flourish! :yep:

:Blush2: Yeah... well, I can't afford to play around with my hair this winter. I'm not trying to let it break all off like it normally does.

And nah, I don't think that'll be too much. My hair adores the moisture and I'll do it at night. I'm normally up fairly late anyway so I'll put that time to good use! :yep:
