Is it best to put egg, conditioner and oil on wet or dry hair? Heat, no heat? If no heat would it be necessary to deep conditioner?
Hm… I did the eggs thing in my hair this morning (2 eggs beaten and mixed with Africa’s Best Organics Hair Mayo) and it didn’t work out so well. Applied the mixture as a pre-poo and left it on for ½ hour, then rinsed, then conditioned with Keracare Humecto (for 10 min, as was in a hurry). The egg scrambled in my hair and I had the hardest time taking all the little pieces out. My hair was a bit hard but the conditioner and leave-in conditioner afterwards made it soft again. My hair is drying in a bun so I cant really tell if it is shiny or anything, will see tonight.
My mum used to wash her hair with eggs all the time when I was little and it made her hair very shiny and bouncy… But she has Caucasian hair (not sure what type hers would be) so it is a completely different structure to mine and reacts very differently to things.
this wouldn't cause protein overload?
Eggs and Mayo would be double protein. That might be a little harsh if you are in any way protein sensitive. And I kinda assume since the eggs scrambled you used heat. I have not tried heat with egg because I thought it would scramble. I would assume like me you were looking for a short cut to a light protein and dc with heat. I have been informed that there is no way around it. If you are going to use egg for protein treatment you cant use heat and you should follow with a moisturizing dc to balance the protein.
