I have a question, I am fairly new around here, but does this kit include one application or can you do retouches like a regular box kit? Your hair looks really nice Ms. K, I learned to do a rollerset based on your pictures!! I hope it grows as long as possible for your wedding!

Devonia

It SHOULD be enough for two retouches, but I am not good at measuring so I just mix the entire thing and throw away what I don't use.

I want to try phyto also. I have a question is there a risk to applying it yourself? It's suppose to be natural so what damage could it do? Would someone explain this to me?

wow... looking good, Ms K... I am glad to se you had a good experience and will continue to use phyto...

the results from phytorelaxer made me confident enough to share it with you ladies here (back in april 2004).

another phytorelaxer user in the house!!!!

As with any no lye relaxer there is a risk of damaging your hair. Although this product has egg soy, it is still a chemical. So youhave to take the same precautions that you would with any relaxer. This is not like the rio stuff or copa stuff that was out a few years ago. Click on the link in my siggy to take you to the phytorelaxer information on the phytospecific website

I have a question for phyto users. Has anyone ever used Index 1 with good results?

I know that sengschick uses it as a texturizer. I am not sure about other ladies though. I am sure you could use it to relax your hair straight as well, but I have only used index 2.

Thanks Kaddy. I think I will order index 1 for my next touch up in April.

KADDY, thanks for the info. I am going to try Phyto. I checked out the web-site and it answered all my questions! Your hair looks great! Keep up the good work! I will let you know my results when I recieve the product and apply.
Again, Thanks girl

I barely had enough for 1 retouch, when I tried it. I was scrapping the jar big time :ohwell: . If I had continued using this, I would have to buy 2 kits just for 1 retouch since I stretch my relaxers out to 6 months now. And I ONLY apply it to my newgrowth.

Hello,

Just cosigning, good job Ms. Kenesha:dance7: !!! I am a phytospecific fan also February 22nd will be my 2nd touch up. I'd like to say that the money spent for this relaxer is well worth it.

Maybe it depends on the amount of new growth.

I would think though if I decided to extend for 6 months I too would need more than one kit to cover all the new growth. The level of extension is not in my near future though  Well, at least I don't think :look:

I'm glad you did it Ms. K your hair is looking nice and shiny and bouncy.

I am next on to jump on the phyto bandwagon...but why is it that there are a ton of Sephora's in the city and I've called about 4 of them and none carry the index 2? The bums. So now I will have to order it.

Sephora is SUCKING on the phytorelaxer tip, I emailed them and so did Kaddy about them not having them in their stores.

Order it from hairbotique and use discount code: SHOP and get 10% off your order!

Thanks for the compliments! :)

Falon, I've posted this for the NY people, but not sure if it was noticed...if you don't want to wait to order online and don't mind paying 65 bucks, the Rickys Pharmacies in NYC carry PhytoRelaxer...just check online...I think it's www.rickys-nyc.com for a location nearest you. Just call ahead...make sure in stock first.

HTH.

Thanks Ms. K.

Sephora is wack. I think they lean towards being a little racist too. I stopped going there a few years back. When I was taking senior pics in 2002 I wanted some nice quality make-up. I went to the Sephora to buy some good pressed powder. I was ready to spend the dough and I wanted quality.

They didn't have ish for anyone darker then biege. This stupid wench tried to get me to spend $36 dollars on a chanel powder that made me look ashy as hell. Finally, in disgust I told her off and went to MAC and I have never been back to any Sephora.

I was going to go just for the phyto but this confirms my previous suspicion that they are not catering to us. So, I will not be spending any of my money there ever again...and I suggest that you ladies that do go there to buy elsewhere.

Black folk got to show these dang companies that don't want to be bothered with us or our needs that we DON'T want to be bothered with them either.

Sephora does have the rep for being a bit racist. My cousin worked in one of the stores and told me the corporate attitude left something to be desired. She also said they would make negative attitudes about latinos and blacks. She is latina and white and appears white. When she spoke up and said that she was half Mexican-American, they said "well you're different from the rest of the brown people".

An added note:
I visited Nordstrom in Baltimore County and they no longer carry ANY phytospecific products. I asked the salesperson (not very knowledgable) and she didn't know what Phytospecific was. I don't know whether people just aren't bying it in the retail stores, but Phyto is dissapearing from stores. I did see a Phyto product recommended in the latest Latina mag though.

Glad to hear you had positive results with the Phyto. Dang, your hair grows fast and is looking great. Keep on growing!

I'm approaching the front of the queue. I'm 8 weeks post relaxer. I'll order Phytorelaxer Index 2 next week and apply it towards the end of February.
