This happen a lot this weekend at my job. I NEVER wear my hair straighten or out at my job. People at my job didn't know what my hair look like. It's was always in a puff bun. Well, I'm on my "that woman" road and decided to cut a bang and style my hair. OMGoodness, I don't know how many times I got a weave check and a bunch of questions to follow. It was annoying.

Depends,
My man- please do!
Good looking man- it's ok.
Family member- it's ok.
Female I don't know- keep yo' hands out my head!
Beautician with tore up head- keep yo' DAMN hands out of my head!

My mother always told me as a child, "Don't let people put their hands in your hair!" I feel like it's a personal invasion of my space. I can't stand it. Of course this applies to people that I do not know well or strangers. I freely let friends and family touch my hair.

Never has happened. And being the germophobe that I am, I would definitely have to say something. So many people are so nasty, you don't know where their hands have been. I even get paranoid when someone is sitting behind me and sneeze, I be thinking of all those germs going into my hair. Which is why I'm glad I co-wash daily.

:nono2: you bet not! I don't even touch it (i.e. low/no manipulation). Don't know where your hands been *shudder*

Girl this is me all day,lol

I really HATE when people touck my hair, esp friends. Being from the caribbean, we was always told not to let ANYONE touch your head period. B/c that is where all your wisdom and knowledge is. And i stand by that.

I honestly don't mind, as long as they are gentle with it. A stranger has never touched my hair. The day that happens is the day that I flip.

Touching a black woman's hair (w/o permission) is like touching a black man's radio. Catch them on the wrong day, and you might draw back a nub. "Don't eva touch a black man's radio!" :lachen:

Seriously, I've never had anyone I don't know personally trying to touch my hair. People at work ask about it. They admire it, but I don't think I've ever had a random person just reach out and touch it. That would bother me (some of those folks don't wash their hands). You don't want me walking up to you and grabbing your butt, don't grab my hair!

if its family or friends I dont care.Random stranger thats a no no that will feel weird! and I will be annoyed!:perplexed

I was in Sallys, looking for some seamless combs, and this girlchild who worked there walked up to me, asked me if I needed help (no), and did I have dreads (no) and then proceeded to touch my hair!!!!! Mind you, my hair was up, which made it worse, as she was almost touching my HEAD .... ya'll, I nearly went into convulsions. Mind ya'll, I'm a generally quiet, mildmannered, won't honk at you unless you are FORREAL about to put a dent in my car kinda person, and I don't know HOW I looked at that woman, but she scurried her happy tail back behind that register without a word.

So, yeah. I've finally had a complete stranger touch my hair, and I was truly of a mind to bite her hand (and head) off.

Ive had an associate pull my hair at the grocery store and it hurt. I guess she was doing a sneaky weave check, and it still pisses me off when I think about it. DONT TOUCH MY HAIR SNEAKY ****!!!! OK im alright now:look:

I hate it.. you never know what they could have touched :perplexed
Word!

:grunt:There are too many folks who don't wash their hands after they go to the bathroom.

Get your Damn, pee-pee hands out of my hair.
:hardslap:

It has only happened to me a few times.

The worst is when the person doesn't ask to touch my hair.

:orders:What the pluck gives you the right to touch my hair or anything else on my person.
:boxing::pyro::stop:

I have no choice with my mom. Everybody else gets really surprised at my catlike reflexes. As soon as I see a hand coming my way that's what they get

Im cool with it if it's family or close friends. It's a different story when it comes to strangers.:nono:

I kinda feel flattered and I sometimes do not care. It makes think "oh, they think my hair is unique, they are curious about it, they admire my hair." :)

Ummm I honestly don't like anyone touching my hair. I would let my SO do so but that was it. As for family and friends, previously I'd groan, and be all asking "Wha'cha wanna touch it fo?" And then I'll roll my eyes and tell 'em "gone 'head". But right now? NOT even them touch it, cuz they don't believe it's NOT a texturizer in my head. They're stuck on the belief that only texturizers and jherri curls can be this curly, not that I blame them since I used to believe it too, but I'm proof of it that it's NOT true since I've had a texturizer before.

Okay, now some random stranger touching my hair?? Ummm, h-e-double hockey sticks NO!!! No telling where them hands been!!
