Donating Blood

?! Wow, I never heard of this before.

I've donated blood twice and I think it's a WONDERFUL thing to do. Christ shed his own blood for us. How could giving blood be seen as a sin?

I personally haven't done it, but I strongly disagree with those religions that say it's sinful.

IMO, it's not right or wrong. However, it's a loving, Christ-like thing to do since it can save a life.

ITA!!!! As someone who has to get blood transfusions regularly, I know for certain that I would not be here right now if it weren't for the pure kindness of people who unselfishly donate their blood, platelets, bone marrow, etc. I wish I could wrap my arms around every single donor and say "thank you" , and if I was in the position to donate blood myself, I'd do it in a heartbeat!!!

DANG, ya'll got me all misty-eyed over here talkin' 'bout this stuff!!!!

I don't believe that this is sinful. Like it was said in a previous post, Christ shed his blood for us.

I have never given blood. I tried. I have very small veins. I was told to grow veins before I try again. I am now 30 years old and I they are still small.

No it is not against Christian beliefs, but Jehovah's witnesses prohibit that type of thing, they are not apart of the Christian Faith. I saw this one lady die on the the Discovery Health channel because she was a jehovah's witnesses and refused to accept blood products when she was admitted to the Emergency Room.

I gave blood for the first time yesterday and it was awesome (my friend is going in for surgery)

I'll definitely be giving again ... its a nice (for want of a better word) feeling.

and re: being christian-like or not, Im not a religious person, but I cant imagine why this would be seen to be contrary to what which ever faith you believe in

ooops sorry if I offended anyone, I did a search and found the thread.
Didnt realize it was in the Christian Fellowship section

To give life is never a sin and life is most definitely in the Blood. If you can save a life by all means do so.

The only sin that I see is if one has a blood disease or is living a high risk lifestyle that is open to blood diseases and knowingly tries to give one blood in an effort to bring harm to one in need of blood. Sadly some folks are just that cruel. :nono:

I give blood all the time and enjoy knowing that I can help someone/ people. Just gave blood 7/15.
That is the main reason I keep my iron levels up, other wise I would just skip the pills. Plus I will be a nurse in less than 5 months, so I have that heart that is willing to do anything I can to save a life.

Thats just me.

I still do when they try to be smart... Mommie still rules :cup:

Sweet sleep Loved one... :sleep2: It's such a blessing to know God has special angels such as you.
