Do you lose more hair when you hair grows faster?

The reason I am asking this is because we just took a ruler to my new growth and I had a relaxer done about two weeks ago. The hair was really straight and the only problem I had was that my hair was stuck to my head as you all probably remember. But I have roughly one inch of new growth if we are measuring correctly. I will try and post a picture so you guys can let me know. The reason I ask though is because I get tons of hair(to me anyway) in the comb every time I comb my hair. The hair also just falls as I walk. I still have tons of hair but I was just wondering. I have been having growth like this every since I started doing the conditioner washes daily and taking my viatmins. Please let me know. Please help.

your hair is beautiful and SOOO shiny!! i didn't see the thread about the problems with the relaxer. how long did they leave it on? was it left on too long? that can make you lose some of the elasticity. that could explain some of the breakage. after you washed, did you notice that your hair had more body? how much heat are you using on a regular basis?

it's great that you're getting so much growth. the hard part is maintaining it. i'd say to make sure you use some really moisturizing products, particularly on your ends.

You have beautiful hair! What do u use for the shine?
Also, are u using a wide tooth comb and a good conditioner to detangle ur hair? I agree with Adrienne, maintenance does get difficult as your hair grows and keeping it moisturized is very important!!!

I don't do anything for the shine. I don't think anyway. I just take GNC Women's Ultra Mega (two tablets) and Biotin 300 (two tablets). I pretreat with VO5 Hot Oil (Moisturizing or Strengthening). I alternate these each time I wash. I just put them on and sit with a bag on my head. Then, I use Keracare 1st later every three days followed by the Keracare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo, Then I mix 1 tsp of the Mizani Moisturfuse and 1tsp of the Keracare humecto creme conditioner and sit under the dryer with it for 15-20 minutes rinse with cold water and put either Mizani rose H20 on my hair or the Keracare oil moisturizer with jojoba oil. In the most recent photo I had been bad though because I hadn't put anything on my hair for two days. On the days that I don't use poo I use the Keracare Humecto creme conditioner for a conditioner wash. After each washes poo or co I use the Elasta QP Design Foam to wrap my hair and let it air dry.

I don't use heated products unless I am in a hurry and then I use the bonnet dryer I have and my ceramic flat iron. Usually this doesn't happen because I plan the me time for my hair because I have six kids and this is one of the few times I have to myself.

Thanks for the compliments it makes me feel as though I am doing something right finally when it comes to my hair.

She left the relaxer on too long and she used a regular Affirm relaxer instead of the Affirm for sensative scalp. The hair had plenty of body after I treated it to get it unstuck from my head. I used RX Professional Prescription Super Protein Pac as a conditioner for that wash though. I usually don't use any heat at all. The hair isn't breaking all the hair I am loosing has the little white bulb on the end. If I do use heat it is a flat iron, steam roller, or a bonnet hair dryer I threw everything else out.

okay, shedding is a whole nother story. i'm not sure what to do because i have that problem myself. it has gotten better since i stopped taking BC pills. did this just start after the retouch, or has it been going on for a while but more noticeable since the retouch?

oh yeah, six kids????

You guys are sooo funny. Six kids isn't that bad. Oh no my hair has been shedding since I had our youngest in March. I just can't stop it. Maybe it is just my time to shed.

yeah, that could be it. plus having a baby takes alot out of you. i bet that's the culprit. just give it alot of TLC. i bet it will subside...
