this doesn't really count as co-washing but i just rinsed my hair with lukewarm water and it feels divine. i didn't even need to use a conditioner.

so happy! moisturized hair, here i come!!!

Last night I cowashed after a protein pre-poo treatment. For a minute, I thought my hair wouldn't get back on track with softness using the VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze clarifying conditioner, but then I used the Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut and my hair felt much softer! I need to buy some more of that stuff. Afterwards, I did an ACV rinse and my hair turned back to it's normal, proper moisture balance.

How many times per week will you cowash?
I plan on cowashing two to three times per week, that amount works well for me.

What conditioners are you planning to use?
I will continue using V05 Moisture Milks. I add a few drops of Rosemary E/O, a cap fill of SAA, and now I've begun adding aloe vera juice to the mix. It's working very well so far.

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing?
A clean scalp that will encourage growth and adding moisture to my hair.

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo?
Once a month.

HHG ladies :waves:

Checking in for the last 2 days. Co washed with suave juicy green apple :lick: I will be rotating between sauve condish and tresemme naturals. I love the suave scents :yep:

How many times per week will you cowash?
It really varies. It used to be at least 2x a week. I've been slacking. Even going 1x has proven taxing. However, I've renewed my commitment to cowashing and will plan to co-wash 1x (2x, if necessary).

What conditioners are you planning to use?
Co-washing: TRESemme Naturals Conditioner Nourishing Moisture with Aloe Vera and Avocado
Deep conditioning: ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing?
Retention and decreased breakage

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo?
1x a week

My picture will come soon. I plan to flat iron either by the end of this week or start of next week. I believe I'm BSL.

MUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:

This is perfect, I just started co-washing and deep conditioning weekly and I have TONS of conditioner to use up, so here goes. My starting pic is actually my avatar pic. I can post it again if needed. My hair is texlaxed so my relaxer times are the only opportunities for a true "length check".

How many times per week will you cowash? Once for sure, will try to add a second one

What conditioners are you planning to use? Suave Almond & Shea Butter, HE LTR, HE Hello Hydration, Organix Coconut Conditioner, Keracare Humecto...I think I have others, but I do not recall them right now.

What do you hope to achieve by cowashing? Moisture, health and length, length and more LENGTH!! I really need to retain my 3 inches for the end of this year. I will be SO CLOSE to BSL, I can practically taste it!! LOL

How often (if ever) will you use shampoo? I will shampoo only twice monthly at the most

count me in!!!
i am back to co washing every day to every other day. today i co washed with elucence moisture benefits(or balance cant remember) conditioner and used kckt as my leave in for a w&g.

i just recently gave up shampoo and my hair is thanking me for it.

Cowashed with V05 Moisture Milks and sitting under dryer DC'ing with Mixed Chicks DC'er.

Diva_Esq, I'd love to join this challenge and cowash several times a week but my hair is so fine/thin and I get so much breakage from tangles on wash days that I'm worried I'd end up bald by the end of the challenge. Is it necessary to detangle after each cowash or can I simply use my hands to pull my hair into a bun without combing it out every time and only detangle once a week or so on my regular wash day? Would not detangling every time result in mega tangles/breakage when I finally do detangle? Thanks!

cynd - I don't detangle after every cowashing session. I do exactly what you said you wanted to do, just put back into a bun. My hair is fine as well and the streaming water in the shower does a good enough job for me in detangling.

Thanks Trueme. The water does a lot for me as well, but if i try to detangle w/a wide tooth comb, I invariably run into a couple of areas where it's pretty tangled and often have to cut some strands to get the knotted hair out.

I think I had a hair epiphany!!

I literally have been struggling with my hair retaining moisture since I decided to go natural. I've tried a handful of products, experiments and routines but nothing kept my hair moist.

I switched to cg in April, but I didn't see a huge difference until this past weekend I sealed with castor oil...OH MYYY

My hair is stillll moist and shiny. I love it! I know some may not consider it cg friendly but that oil sealed the deal for me.

Juicy twist pics to come.
