I'm currently 4 months post relaxer I have just over 2 inches of new growth except in the nape area, which broke off on one side and I just went ahead and cut off the other side to make it even.... the nape area had about 1 inch of growth.
My plan is to wear braids to help in my transitioning phase until I'm ready to cut off the relaxed hair and sport a TWA.

I was completely natural for 11 months and I fell back into relaxing due to a hectic schedule of working and school full time..... now I don't have school to deal with anymore I wanna try natural again and I pray this time it will be permanent.
some pics of my natural hair between 07 and 08
that day after I cut off the relaxer in July

looks great and good luck w/your transitioning. Your braids look really nice, it looks textured, what kind of hair did you use?

You can definitely do 12 months. When you get sick of dealing with it throw in some braids or a wig so you don't have to deal with the detangling and what not

thanks hon

I made this thread to remind me of why I'm doing this..... so whenever I get frustrated I can come back here and calm down.

@Val
great progress:) and what lacefront is that? i love it. i'm thinking about getting a lacefront or something else to protect my hair for a bit

Congratulations on your decision to transition again, Val! Keep up the good work! You can do it!

I'm taking the braids out next week and I plan to redo them myself .... I'm constantly playing with my NG. I can't wait to BC and be all natural..

I'll be 5 months post next week and my intention is to transition for 1 year..... but I'm getting the BC urge.

Ok next week I will remove my braids it will be 6 months into my transition. I feel like just BC-ing then.

I mean there is no reason to hold on to the relaxed hair especially if um gonna continue braiding till December or January.

I took down my braids lastnight and I washed and airdried my hair in cornrows.

I'm going to rebraid today....I think my hair grew a bit since the BC
